Nothing indicates a sincere concern for the hardworking people of Alberta like registering multiple websites about the same separatist agenda, and one more in Saskatchewan just in case.

It's frustrating that they don't even provide titles or background for the Council Members. They could have gotten some AI tool to run it once and include that info in the announcement instead of everyone who is interested burning up compute, or their own time, to do it separately.

In addition to all the announced IONIQ models, Hyundai recently trademarked N74 in Canada and the US. We can dream of a Korean electric muscle car, right?

Since 2012 I've only bought refurbished phones. Most of my computer components are 2nd hand too. I've even been repairing a bunch of electronics and power tools as they wear out, which is usually just due to a pinched wire or an integrated fuse.

First Nations govern in the interests of Canadians more so than provincial and federal governments. I am okay with Land Back because First Nations should have the resources to expand that governance. As a settler, even in a relatively progressive riding, I would welcome it.

Elbows Up? More like Elbows Up For Sale. Carney is not uniquely qualified to stand up to Trump. Many people do it. He's more specialized in selling off Crown Corps and public infrastructure, from the attempted privatization of Ontario’s Hydro One to selling the last public stake in PetroCanada.

This is a great review of the IONIQ 5, which you can buy used quite reasonably in Canada. Turns out that if you aren't concerned with visceral road connection and burble-pop exhaust tuning, EV ownership is amazing. Their main EV gripe is about public charging in Ontario youtu.be/jRYFBsNbO24?...

I'm glad to see my MLA (Brennan Day) leave the BC Conservatives while they devolve into outright brain rotted racism. I didn't vote for him, but respect that he and several others are still functioning adults and have left the party.

Alberta congratulates itself on doing evil. Every time forest fires destroy a town, floods wipe out homes and livelihoods, people die from heat exposure and poor air quality, and the electricity grid is strained by AC use, we can thank the UCP for their advocacy. www.ctvnews.ca/edmonton/art...

Alberta says province’s advocacy work to thank for Ottawa’s EV sales mandate repeal
The Alberta government says it will be following the federal government’s next emission standards regulations closely after celebrating the scrapping of a Justin Trudeau-era electric vehicle mandate.

I moved from PG to the Comox Valley about 5 years ago. The Valley (Comox, Courtenay and Cumberland) has a similar population and amenities to PG, but each community has its own vibrant, compact downtown. I'd love to see an urbanist comparison.

Thanks for this investigation. It seemed very suspect from the start and I really appreciate the work that goes into connecting these community pages and websites. The Courtenay active transportation bridge opposition kind of feels like the same deal.

It's weird that Alberta's orphan wells are not part of the pipeline MOU. Nobody should even be allowed to do a pipeline press release until they are cleaned up. Seems more effective than CCS and AB is already supposed to do it.

Honda didn't sell many EVs in North America, but I see people moving on to other brands regardless. I used to be a big fan but they seem rudderless now, making boring cars by committee. They hinted at reviving the Element, but worry it will be a huge letdown regardless of powertrain.

Sometimes, I take a used and abused base-model car share EV on a 1,600 km road trip from the coast to B.C.'s central interior, during which I provide ad-hoc airport shuttle service for meeting attendees, and everything is fine because we have a reliable, low-cost, publicly owned charging network.

Policy alternative: the federal government forcibly seals/remediates Alberta's orphan wells via crown corp (or CAF), hands AB the bill, and nobody so much as makes a pipeline or Pathways press release until it's all paid.

My in-laws just bought a Rav4 hybrid (not prime) for $60k CAD. That's with full tech package, getting a "good deal" from a friend at a dealership. A hybrid for more than an IONIQ 5 AWD long range. Because North America seems to have Toyota Stockholm Syndrome.

In British Columbia and Quebec, electricity is provided by publicly owned companies (crown corporations) that prioritize low rates and maximum uptime, not profits (though they still make billions in profit, especially by selling to other markets).

The gaslighting is just maddening. Starts with soothing words for Alberta about the NEP and loss of agency. Then proceeds to hype up a pipeline that will be rammed through B.C. Reducing emissions is too expensive? Show some numbers! Let's see the costs, risks and assumptions behind that statement.

The rest area had 50 kW stations for several years, but the new 350 & 400 kW stations exceed the sustained charging speed of many current EVs, even when splitting power to charge two vehicles at once.

This is an awesome addition to B.C.'s charging network right as summer travel ramps up. The Coquihalla highways is a busy, long and steep climb into the province's interior and this charging option takes pressure off congested stops at the bottom of the route. www.castanet.net/news/BC/6222...

Every chud-farming culture war leads back to US resource companies. "Property rights" mean the ability for O&G and mining companies to do what they want, without regulation. Remember, the panic over DRIPA and Indigenous rights only kicked in when they pushed back on corporations.
