It was an honor to discuss Martin Krygier's new book Tempering Power last night at UNSW Law School. It is one of the great works on the subject, and the large turnout reflected that (over 100 attended, including many zooming in from Europe). Order here: www.cambridge.org/core/books/t...

It was an honor to welcome Judge Chrissa Loukas-Karlsson to my Jurisprudence classes today at The University of Sydney Law School. She spoke movingly about her commitment to the rule of law & human rights. A splendid example of judicial mentorship of law students starting a career in legal practice.

It's not everyday to have a world leader drop by one's class. It was a privilege and pleasure to welcome the 29th Prime Minister of Australia, Malcolm Turnbull, to my Jurisprudence seminar today on The Rule of Law and its Value at The University of Sydney Law School. An inspiring discussion.

I am just a girl standing in front of you asking all my fellow critical legal scholars to perform a concrete analysis of a concrete situation rather than keep writing things whose citations are 90% from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Very pleased that my book The Rule of Law in Ancient Rome, co-edited with colleagues in classical studies, and for which I contributed the opening chapter, will be published this week by Oxford. A splendid interdisciplinary endeavor. academic.oup.com/book/61402

The recent arrest of a Wisconsin judge by the Trump administration may be what William Scheuerman calls a politically motivated "official rule departure", a form of civil disobedience that may strengthen the rule of law. More in the new Routledge Handbook of the Rule of Law: tinyurl.com/36uxzb9x
