McConnell, just before he was hospitalized, voted against the SAVE act. It would need 60 votes to pass, anyway. Sometimes people think they can play chess but they don’t even understand what’s going on.

What legislation is currently being held because of McConnell’s absence? The SAVE America Act just recently failed with 48 votes and McConnell was one who voted against it, because it had no hope of reaching 60 votes.

Beshear should disregard the law, appoint a new Senator, and force the GOP to take him to court. This would a) force the GOP to prove the seat isn’t vacant, b) challenge the legality of the Kentucky law, and c) send a message that the Dems are willing to fight. Passive leadership doesn’t work.

I’m simply adding context between two very different races. The incumbency advantage is a major difference. Though not an incumbent, Pingree is more well known than Bobby Charles, which is a factor. As for Platner, more than 70% of voters believe he has the best chance based on the primary.

Ranked. Choice. Voting. We rank the candidates in the order we prefer. Not the order YOU prefer. This avoids costly and time consuming run off elections. Andrea LaFlamme was never a viable candidate. She couldn’t get 2k signatures to get on the ballot and probably won’t get 1k votes statewide.
