Today I was sent a pen to review by Wancher in Japan. It's a PoChaCo, a real chunky monkey - and I am having ridiculous amounts of fun with it. Fabulous writer, great appearance and feels glorious! Only £27 for this quality is crazy!

A day of working at the new book. Lots still to write although the story has gelled well in my head - all I have to do is write it all out. Hope to get another 5,000 words today. Meanwhile the eye is improving after my cataract op on Monday. Last weekend daughter's dog came to play and all 3 mad!!

To be quite honest, it's worth it not to have to fast beforehand, not to have the long wait before you can be released from hospital while they monitor you, and not to have the inevitable day or two of feeling rubbish afterwards. There you go. If you have questions, let me know. 22/22

Only 24 hours after the op, no pain, and the vision is the best it's been in 50 years!

So be reassured. In my case, I was taken to a ward with 5 others and seated in very comfy chairs. We were individually taken into a room where we had a little pellet placed under our bottom eyelid which contained a drug that opened the iris fully. 3/22

After the operation, still feeling rather bemused by it all!

Right, I've had a number of folks asking about my cataract operation Monday. Was it scary, did it hurt, was it horrible seeing the devices getting closer? I thought it would perhaps help other folks to know what it actually involves. 1/22
