Michael Hattem @michaelhattem.bsky.social · 07/07/2026The nationally-directed celebrations have always been shallow and jingoistic. Having worked with many in the last few years, I have a great appreciation for the work done by many local groups and institution, which have always been the heart and soul of any successful anniversary. 010

Michael Hattem @michaelhattem.bsky.social · 18/06/2026I don’t know that I’d assume that. Because I’d never seen a bibliography I’ve always assumed it was an inference more than a quantitative assertion based in part on the lack of American fiction (until the 1800s/1810s) and partial inferences based on library catalogues and newspaper adverts. 110

Michael Hattem @michaelhattem.bsky.social · 22/03/2026Yeah. I worried in advance that they hadn’t won in like 4-5 matches and would be due for a good performance. And that’s what happened.
