So, based on some preliminary convos re: hold up Kawhi deal: 1) NBA wants investigation complete before deal closes to avoid unintended consequences (ie small chance Kawhi contract gets voided) 2) Barring THAT the deal will close as agreed. 3) Hope is issue will be resolved by BOG meeting Tuesday:

Per Shams, Raptors will 'begin' extension conversations with Kawhi Leonard this week. As a 10+ year veteran Leonard is eligible for a two-year deal worth 35 per cent of the salary which could be worth (per Bobby Marks) $123.1 million. As well, Leonard has a new agent.

Given the histories of the primary players involved, it's not surprising that the last hurdle to get a deal done is each team signing off on the medicals of the incoming players, per league source. Gradey Dick? Shouldn't be a problem. Leonard's and Ingram's could take a minute.

Raps have a lot happening, obv, but haven't lost sight of Sandro Mamukelashvili's free agency. Communication has been "constant" and "collaborative" as FA approaches, I'm told. Hope is a deal that works for both sides, but expectation is for a lot of interest in stretch big.

Raps take Jaden Bradley, 6-2 sr PG with 50th pick: 13.1, 39% from 3, 4.4a for a 36-3 Arizona Wildcats team. In that sense gives a very Jamal Shead vibe: pesky on-ball defender and leader for a team that (almost) won everything. As a bonus Bradley can shoot it a bit.

Allen Graves was the player I'd heard connected to Raptors most. He fits as big wing/small-ball big (6-foot-7) who can shoot it (41% from 3) but has an outrageous steal rate (1.9 in 22 mpg) and very high feel/IQ, qualities that should compensate for question marks about high-end NBA athleticism.

Any chance of Raps moving up from 19th? Very unlikely. Per sources, last yr OKC wanted to trade three firsts (had 15 & 24 last yr; have 12 & 17 this yr) for Collin Murray-Boyles. Might be cheaper to move into 10-15 range this yr, but Raps don't have extra picks to lob around, so .. .
