oh yeah em and en dashes are now at same-height position and contain distinction between each. if you smell like a perennial plant and you asked nicely for this feat: you're welcome

nosey rodent has been updated to 2.2 - ampersand does not sucks - some curvature and weight-balance fixes (still want to make more) - the end of fu-coin (any currencies will just fall back to whatever other font you may have those instead of being offered by the font) as always @ micenest.xyz/nro/

in newer versions of blender, the easiest way if you want to insert the text *inside* the UV texture is by using a brand new compositing node that allows you to, well, insert *2d* text inside a texture with your desired specification. alternatively... yeah. adding a 3d text and manual face align. 🤷‍♀️

a demonstration of blender 5.2's string to image compositor node, with the string "don't ask me why this took so long. i wish i knew." put together in a pre-rendered background.

you know, i wrote the full-stack for the mice nest a long while ago at this point (two years ago) and despite having a few flaws i just feel ecstatic w/ how fluid and modular this is. i dunno it just makes me really excited to tinker around and add new things w/o feeling bloaty. that's rare.

i genuinely wish you the biggest strength on this next challenge and my condolences to not just you but everyone nearby for this major loss. i am in full support and you know that contact is always open if you need someone to talk to. 💟

if i had to guess a division of the bskysocial headquarters are hosted on texas and thus they have to comply with the laws from there ...but it's strange really

🐈🐁's first track project is also out. you can figure it out where to find it (it's the first post prior to this one, lol) i'm satisfied with the result from it.

originally i wanted to ship something to july 7th but i figured that for this month i want to take a mid-year break and figure out more things to polish from the website's backend further rather than feeling pressured by the deadline of a more smaller update. so that's what i'm doing! c:

spent most of my day fixing a bunch of features that didn't made the cut on the original schema for HOTTY and also added the entries from the year 2024. took a bit, but surely it was worth it :) you can check it out at micenest.xyz/p/hotty/2025 and micenest.xyz/p/hotty/2024

...custom timelines. they have been a thing for ages now 🥴

010

bee @micenest.xyz · 27/05/2026

yyyyyyyyeah no way i can deliver am for may specifically. twas (and somewhat still is) a very busy month for me, but one that i'm also really damn happy with how things are turning. i think i'll find a way to add Two entries for the start of next month instead. that'll be cool enough!

000

bee @micenest.xyz · 19/05/2026

again, another delay - i'm pushing may's a.m to somewhere around next week instead. this time it's because, again, of a lot of work to do! bare with me in this one, heh well, i suppose it also compensates a bit of the delay that happened on april's a.m, so there's that. <3

After a short convo about fonts on discord, I ask this question "Serif" -> "Sans Serif" (meaning, without serifs) "Comic" -> "Comic Sans" instead of "Sans Comic"

"Goose chase" meme.

In the upper panel, a Canadian Goose asks a question, "Comic Sans what?"

Int he lower panel, it's chasing after someone while yelling "Comic Cans what, motherfucker??"

easier than picking albums, that's for sure. ...notice how there's not a single north american name in this. lol.

Music of the Mind - Jamiroquai (1993)
Pagan Poetry - Björk (2003)
Viola Enluarada - Marcos Valle, Mauricio Einhorn (1983)
Roforofo Fight - Fela Kuti & The Africa 70
Act 3, Op. 21: Dance espagnole - ПётрЧ айковский (1875)
迷彩 - 椎名林檎
★ - David Bowie (2016)
Meu nome é Gal - Gal Costa (1969)
Daylight Robbery - Imogen Heap (2005)
By The River - John Fiddy (1979)

...and also because despite setting up the proper resources i still struggle with monitoring my weekly listens lol

010

bee @micenest.xyz · 26/04/2026

because as funny as how many records there are totalized in HOTTY, it is not enough to fill a weekly chart given at how i listen to those records at an isolated period of the week rather than continuously throughout such (unless it's a really good record, to which i put it in my active listens)

internally this change took a bit longer than i expected because down the line i made some infrastructure changes to how the site's stack system works. also tried to adapt things more *adequately* to show the pages currently available. still not in the way i'd like, but it's much more presentable.

120

bee @micenest.xyz · 23/04/2026

phew! finally. this month's a.m. (from april 23 to may 20) is @feinando.bsky.social . you may had also noticed a few changes, and, rejoice, mobile users: portrait mode is now a thing. it may not work under *all* pages but it should be accessible enough. enjoy!

the frontpage of the mice nest showcasing @feinando.bsky.social as this month's a.m, or artful of the month.

you can use other forks of bluesky's frontend like @xan.lol 's witchsky.app which should have that as an opt-in and also give you a bit more liberty feature-wise.

(another reason for the delay is that i've been extra-busy these past couple of days. maybe worthy of a note? i don't know really. :s)

010

bee @micenest.xyz · 17/04/2026

imma have to delay the april 19 am for a couple of days (like 2-3), but for a good reason: i'm making more expansions to the nest for everyone's comfort navigating it. c: the changes will be welcoming and should even improve some stuff performance-wise as well. excited to show.

around here i always get so bitter when they call image below a "dutch pie" when... no? no it isn't????? dutch pies are made from apples, not (almost) like a cheesecake 😭

an erroneous representation of a (served cold) sweet pie made out of biscuits, cream and chocolate (from bottom to top order). there are also chocolate-topped biscuits around the pie itself to give an extra decorattion.
