The largest photophores known to science belong to the Dana octopus squid (Taningia danae). They have a eyelid-like membrane they can use to cover them up, and they use these lemon sized photophores to flash their prey as they grab them with their hook covered arms. #SQUIDtember

Octopus DNA is so complex, scientists still don't understand it. While all other animals on earth evolve through multiple generations, octopus DNA can change while they are alive. This started the talk about octopus "alien DNA". Scientific paper below the video.
