I think I'm finally done with my waterwheel sawmill #LEGO #MOC! More pics and video to follow as I can't post mixed media...

It's been a long journey making this but I'm nearly there! Just some more detailing to do and rework a couple of windows to keep the motif on all the edges. Really happy with the landscaping! #LEGO #AFOL #legocastle #LEGOCOMMUNITY

And done! OMG it only just fits on my shelf, had to swap the tallest flag down to a lower turret 😂 Looks great with the rest of the village. Definitely lived up to all the hype about this set.

Big grey Lego castle flanked by smaller medieval buildings. It's hanging off the front of a shelf and scraping the one above.

Ok I thought the hinged wall but was the best mechanism in this set, then I thought it was the drawbridge, but I think this squishy ratchet is my favorite now! Nearly done!

Lego ratchet mechanism for a portcullis. It has a squishy rubber piece that keeps a lever in place against a gear until you lift it.

Upside down bits! What in the world?!

I was right! I love this technique. The DnD castle used something similar, and it's such a smart approach to get fun angles and variation in steps.

I have a suspicion these are going to end up sideways as stairs...

The forestmen hideout returns! (🎶Does it come with a Lego frog?🎶 Yes, many)

Dungeons of the Lego castle. There is a forest man in green sitting in the foreground of the model with an elk shield and bow behind him.

I got the right continents, at least!

End of book 1! I love how the arches are repeated across the build (and same as in the Market Street tower). Really tied the place together!

His 'n' hers Lego; his 'n' hers cocktails.

On a wooden table with a black glass middle: a small box with an unbuilt Lego tribute to Jane Austen and a larger box with part of a big castle, and two cut-glass tumblers with a dark red whiskey cocktail.

Nice, but not as good as my water wheel 😂

Good progress for father's day!

Lego model of woodmill/workshop. I've added lots of rocks and landscaping since my last update. Now about 14" by 18" by 12".

So I just learned that this is the cover for the spare tire release. How on earth is this symbol supposed to indicate that?!

Weird plastic cover thing with a vaguely tire looking symbol on it

Right out the gate they use these *amazing* building techniques. Cool angles.

Crazy Lego brick angles matching up to make a gorgeous castle tower.

Asked Copilot if I had any action items from my meetings today. It said "You had 13 meetings today..." which I thought was ridiculous, but then <cries in PM>

screenshot of my calendar with, you guessed it, 13 meetings

Ok I know it's an ad but maybe I'm just surprised I haven't seen @blowdart.me tag @sinclairinat0r.com in it yet. I love they didn't even bother to iron his shirt.

Starting a major Lego set this weekend! I had wanted the Lion Knights' Castle since it launched, it's retiring later in 2025 so had to pick it up. Bag 1!

Lego hay cart pulled by a brown cow (how now), food stall with red and white awning, and firkin. On a wooden kitchen table.

Underrated banger. The last minute never fails to get my family hopping. Unironically deserving of a place on any EDM playlist

What does the fox say on a playlist next to deadmau5, Martin Garrix, Galantis etc.

Finally got back to working on this and I think I've got the structure of my #LEGO wood mill MOC sorted. Need to do a Bricklink order! On to stream, millpond, and landscaping next!

A LEGO building in half timber style, rounded barn roof. Bird nesting in the chimney 😊

Other side. You can see the sliding doors and water wheel

Yeah! My OnShape account just full of random little clips and spacers and handles 😂 I learned to CAD in my A-Levels and it's been great fun dusting those skills off.

So Will, what do you use your 3d printer for? Oh, making plastic hair for the plastic figures in my other expensive hobby 🙄

I'm not known for this but I've been working with some colleagues in Israel this week and it's rubbing off on me :D

"Your name was mentioned by Will. He said he would be as blunt as he was with you the other day"

Wow, that's super niche and very much *my* niche. Didn't know that! Mine's an early one then 😊

Made some more #febrovery MOCs last night. Away from home with just a couple of sets (internet points available if you can identity them!) which was a good challenge. Wife and I agreed they're taking part in a jam battle run by a disco chicken. Red space guy has a crush on Android guitar lady 😂

Upgraded my pizza station to a *giant* Koda 2 Max, it's a beast! Absolute game changer to be able to cook two at once though, and the digital thermometer is a great gimmick.

Giant gas pizza oven, 24" wide so it can fit two pizzas in a once. It's on a stainless steel table, on a deck looking out to a soggy puget sound.

My turn for #febrovery, inspired by set #6668 Recycle Truck from 1992 😊 Also took some ideas for the wheels from the Curiosity and Perseverance Rovers! #AFOL #legomoc #legospace #febrovery2025

Lego space rover. Big chunky wheels, white chassis, oversized red box on top. The box has recycling logos, lots of greebling on it. It's driven by a red minifig spaceman with a red cup.

Other side. It has a broom and spade attached like the original set.

Top view. There's various pipes and bars attached to the top for detailing.

Rear view. The top hinges open and a chute opens at the back, again like the original set.

Ok it's not a MOC but here's some really LEGO content for the feed. I've been having fun 3d printing some hex displays for various minifigs 😊

Hexagonal display shelves each housing a single Lego minifig. They're all different colors sort of matching the key color of the minifig. There's a few Fabuland and Technic figs included for good measure.

Anyway here's some gorgeous snow from this morning and my cats snoozing.

Thought I'd wear my patent shirt for International LEGO Day! The date on my shirt was a later design that (IIRC) is the one still used today, but I don't have a print of the original 😂

Will Thompson @mi77.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

Yeah! Other fun things I found were these square engine pistons, crane grabber, and this weird candle thing with a small pin. Not sure it's real LEGO, the pin is smaller than the regular bar connector you get on modern ones.

Will Thompson @mi77.bsky.social · 27/01/2025

It's done. Finished up cleaning the last of 6 or 7 big bags of LEGO I rescued from my parents place. So many memories, so many cool sets from my childhood and even earlier. We got given a few *really* old sets, you can see a conyevor belt from early 70s! Lots of building potential!

If you see this post, quote with a bridge from your gallery

3 kids run up a ramp to a pedestrian bridge with the dying light of a busy day behind them. The bridge has a white peaked roof that looks like a circus top.

Lovely spot for lunch. My happy place even when it's cold.
