The Descent but worse. On the drama side, this does not seem like a great place to handle significant trauma? Like the therapist and the group was... poorly done? On the horror side, most of the kills are off screen and the monster is just... fine. Pretty bad, but better than Mortuary Assistant!

Everyone else is mysteriously missing now and my lady and her best friend are going into the cave to... do what? Even if you find the three folks who just went missing, you can't carry them. You were not equipped for general forest shit, let alone cave shit.

So, the inciting trauma for our main character is her ex tried to kill her and did kill her dog. It's only six months *after* that event that her best friend is chiding her for not being all in on the therapy walk. YEAH MAN. THIS IS NOT A LIGHT BIT OF TRAUMA.

Well hello.

I'm reluctant to write this, given a world where the needs of others are so much greater than mine - but I need a hand.

It started with a sudden €2000 journey to the United States for my husband to care for his ailing mother in her struggle with end stage heart failure. It worsened when sickness, depression, and an unexpected injury necessitated extended time from work - and the Belgian health care system resisted (and still resists) full reimbursement for time off. A comfortable life became less comfortable quickly.

Short version: I need some help with expenses. It's not a dire need, but it's enough that I'm reaching out. A handful of euros goes a long way. With embarrassed bear hugs,

Me.

TEDIOUS! Spoiler alert, there's a demon. The demon has one play, and that's to make sis imagine shit. And come back as her clearly long dead dad. She figures this out like one third the way in, and then we just keep repeating the same thing over and over until the end. TEDIOUS! TERRIBLE!

RNG for #31DaysofHorror sends us to the bottom of the list: The Mortuary Assistant (2026) Based on the video game, a young assistant in a mortuary does her final training night shift. Bad things happen. Somehow, the worst-rated film on our list this year.

I think I ultimately came to that conclusion around the time I was reviewing the Quest 3.

Tonight's #31DAysofHorror: Bounding (2022) A medical resident transfers to a rural hospital after things go horribly wrong at his original posting. Sold as horror, but it is really a drama about the existential horror that is the medical system. Pretty good, but not *really* spooky season stuff.

Marvel’s ‘Zodiac’ Sets 2028 Release on Disney+ as New Details Revealed

On one hand, why this? On the other, I honestly have no idea what this could be. The animal-themed group, but as spies? The guy from recent Moon Knight? Who knows. Sky is the limit and I have to assume someone came with a good pitch. variety.com/2026/tv/news...

Wait, is Femto from Berzerk based on this?

Overly long. It also had the unfortunate situation of all the main character being dumb teenagers, which can be... infuriating. You can see things playing out in ways the characters should probably notice... and yet.

It wasn't a bad film, but it felt a little lifeless and some of the narrative choices towards the end left something to be desired. Thought it was going one way, then it didn't, then it did? Pick a lane y'all. Also, a little bit gay near the end.

Why are they just now promoting it? Why is it coming from Netflix Games rather than WBIE, the gaming arm of the company that owns the Conjuring franchise?
