Post your warning sign
A black and white pictogram of a small 4x4 checkerboard with a ball sitting atop it, reflecting the board back down, in the manner of countless 90s and 2000s 3D rendering tests.

Below the pictogram is an all-caps warning, "absolutely no chrome spheres over checkerboards permitted in this room."

Nobody tell Wayne. Unclear whether it's 'berta beef, but i still wouldn't pay twenty apiece for top sirloin from anywhere. Berta beef, Japanese Wagyu, Australian Wagyu.
A photograph of a $20.10 top sirloin steak, at the store.

I apologize for putting an ad in your Bluesky, but my Scout Group is starting fundraising for the year, and I'd love to help folks get their gardens started! Just visit the shop (makeitsow.com/seeds/shop/#...) and enter the code KINGSTON_2026 to help Kingston Centre Scouts with our fundraising!

It is with some hesitation that I admit that it was in the Year of our Lord 2026 that I finally listened to any Joy Division beyond Love Will Tear Us Apart. I'm offended by my own failure in this regard. But, in the same vein as the second-best time to plant a tree being today, I'm fixing that now.
The cover art of Joy DIvision's 1979 debut album, Unknown Pleasures. On a black background, the band's name and album name are written in plain white letters at the top and bottom, separated by a graph of apparent mountains on otherwise horizontal lines. The album art is a ridgeline plot of the radio emissions of a pulsar, CP 1919.

Just earlier tonight by 15-lb beefus of a cat tried doing the same to me in my office chair!
A frankly monstrous grey tabby cat dozes peacefully on his owner's lap. The cat lies on his side, somewhat stretched out, with his face partially mashed into his owner's belly. One foreleg is crossed in front of the other. You would think he learned to sleep from watching people, rather than other cats, and you may just be right.

I got access to crayons and kraft paper. Of course I drew Trogdor. And then my 14yo showed me his skills of an artist! He wonders who can guess what the li'l guy next to his thumbs-up is. I got it wrong.
Crayon sketches on kraft paper of various characters and items. Trogdor the Burninator is shown near a burning thatched-roof cottage.

The end result: a crusty loaf with a dense, frankly spongy crumb. Possibly slightly underbaked at the bottom? Very light flavour. My partner identified pretty quickly that I'd left out the salt in the recipe, so definitely some better attention to detail is called for for the next attempt.
Standing on a wooden cutting board, a sliced loaf of a home-baked French loaf is shown, the cut side facing the camera. The bread is dense, with small air pockets and small grains.

My favourite local bakery and cafe, Pan Chancho, published a couple of cookbooks with recipes that they use in-house, and my partner came home with one of them a couple of weeks ago. I finally got a chance to try making some bread from their pain ordinaire... looks like it turned out pretty well!
Two home-baked batard loaves, which is a long, broad French loaf of bread, cooling on wire racks on a black countertop. The loaves are pale and the slashes often seen on French bread are quite shallow and somewhat hard to distinguish. One loaf's exterior texture is much smoother than the other. They're certainly not expertly made, but for an amateur baker, they're at least reasonable.

Got the latest Bluesky update? Great! Alas, the developers changed how replies are ordered that, while it will provide for vibrancy flywheels, changes a behaviour you may have preferred. Setting > Content > Threads > Sort replies to a post by "hotness"? No thanks. Chronological for me!
The Bluesky settings menu, on Android. To change your reply order setting, start on this screen and choose "Content and media," which is the fifth menu option. The Bluesky Content and Media Settings menu, on Android. To change your reply order setting, select "Thread preferences" on this menu, which is the second option. The Bluesky Thread Preferences menu. For sorting replies, five options are given: "Hot replies first," which brings replies to the top that, themselves, have more interactions; "Oldest replies first," "Newest replies first," "Most liked first," and "Random, also known as Poster's Roulette," all of which seem fairly self-explanatory. I've selected "newest replies first," to maintain the generally reverse-chronological order that seems to work well on Bluesky.

Me too, buddy. Me too.
A grey tabby cat sprawls on a hardwood floor, in front of a lit gas fireplace, warming his belly. In the background is an exposed stone wall, supporting beams, bookcases, and the cat's bed. Despite the cold October morning outside the house, it's warm and cozy inside.

My cat is broken. He likes being cuddled in arms, being upside-down, and (failing at) suckling my other male cat's nipples. And yet, I wouldn't have him any other way.
The author, in a grey t-shirt, photographing himself in a mirror against a living room background of several filled bookcases, a couch, and an easy chair. In his arms is a grey tabby cat, with his limbs extended, and head dangling upside-down, looking off-frame to the left.

She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts--this bagel can go point-five past light schmear.
A sesame-seed Montreal bagel, closed-face with cream cheese, on a green plate. The bagel has accidentally been formed in such a way that it strongly resembles the Millennium Falcon from the Star Wars films.

I have to say, the toolkit in Xanathar's Guide to Everything is fantastic for coming up with character background. I started with "LN Echo Knight soldier working for the Flaming Fists," and now I've got, like, his whole family and backstory worked out!
Handwritten notes on grid paper for a new Dungeons and Dragons character. It includes not only background basics, that he's an infantry soldier, likes to face his problems head on, and has the Two-Weapon Fighting style, but also much more detailed points, based on the tables in Xanathar's. He has 4 younger siblings, one of whom he has a hostile relationship with, was raised by a single mother, has met with both tragedy and good fortune, and has held several mercenary jobs in his forty-odd years. His siblings' careers run the gamut, and most are alive and well. All done with rolls of the dice!

The clouds were neat tonight. I think they were cirrus and cirrocumulus, but by all means tell me if I'm wrong!

All I can think of now is Aggretsuko...
A screencap of the Sanrio show Aggretsuko, featuring in close-up the beefy kangaroo yoga instructor, saying the one word he ever says on the show: "Protein." In the Japanese language track, it sounds to the English audience as "protain."

Sam says, meowy Christmas!
Sam, a tuxedo cat missing is right eye, is curled up like a loaf on the skirt of a Christmas tree. The tree is lit, and he gazes at the photographer, wondering what on Earth I want. It's unclear whether Sam understands the holiday, or is just enjoying the warm, non-hardwood-floor surface.
