Pretty much my autistic focus is nerdy media. Superhero stuff, genre fiction, games and anime. I also am working on writing my own stuff. After a lifetime of being a nerd but very intensely identifying with femme characters I am VERY sick of the straight cis male leads of most nerd media.

Its a multi year period where the jackal was the main villain, Ben Reilly was supposed to be the secret 'real original' Peter Parker and replace him, there were 20 weird ass storylines like that Gwen clone that went nowhere, and no one knew where it was all going or why and couldn't end it.

Nah this was before that. Just at the point where everything in comics was more edgy in the late 80s and 90s so they wanted to make sure spidey was appropriately miserable. Kraven's last hunt i understand was the stand out high water mark of the period for a good story tho.

I grew up with dad's comic collection and a lot of the spider man era he had was when Spiderman fought obscure mobsters like the Rose and....the sewer adjacent? Just guys who probably smelled awful and wanted to drown him in poop water during dramatic rain storms.

After reading Supergirl woman of tomorrow.....the movie was fine you all are just purists and babies. A direct adaptation was basically impossible in a movie format so they told their own story in their own universe with some of the themes and elements of the original.

The most memorable of problems I have with games are the repetitive details that take my attention away from the rest of it. The exact shape cut out of wolverines costume in the new game that shows me his back for 2/3rds of the game because the flesh/costume destruction system is a little too there

They refuse to make a game that isn't just simulating a human opponent when they havent actually properly simulated the human. If you train good strategy and habits but it isnt a perfect analog to a PVP fight that is still a win.

Yeah i can imagine its hard going but theres a lot of potential solutions they arent really exploring. Like, imagine an enemy CPU that had an indicator for how you have conditioned their block. 'Okay they are blocking low, go overhead!' Or other such indications of the enemy state.

I can get from beginner to intermediate in pretty much any other genre by just playing the damn game but fighting game AI has been trash at doing anything but teaching you bad habits for decades and that's a problem they don't do half as much as they should to fix.

Fighting game AI really REALLY needs work. A lot of the time once you get past the point where the AI is just letting you win you run into this no mans land where if you try to do anything intentional while learning it counters you perfectly but if you button mash you win. So you learn jack shit.
