I'd love to see more composers make (orchestral) game covers of older/classic games. But not the Zelda's and Final Fantasies. Lesser "pick me" games like Dark Forces or Unreal. Remixes on YouTube often have that too digital midi sound with out-of-breath trumpets or completely wrong notes/rythm.

Speaking of Big Box physical editions... One I'm still hunting for is the original big box of Unreal. Specifically the edition with the design from the image below, the English version. Very hard to find one that's not falling apart, a different language or way above the budget I'm willing to spend.

Both "Alien Breed 35th Anniversary Collection" and "SiN: Reloaded" by @nightdivestudios.bsky.social were released today. Being able to play these with modern QOL is a blessing. Shout out to @antstreamarcade.bsky.social for reviving the classic Alien Breed games. It's such a nice surprise.

New addition to the Physical Box Games collection. This one is pretty special to me. It's the PC CD-ROM edition of the original Jurassic Park video game by OCEAN with a very light embroidered box sleeve. In amazing condition. Only spotted this one in a store ONCE in 1993. Finally got you.

What is happening at DPD? I changed the delivery date to one day later because I would not be home yesterday. Then they kept on going anyway, say they delivered it a 8:30 pm and have proof of delivery??? This never happened. And now it's back to "ready for delivery". Glitch or drunk driver?

Started my playthrough of Star Wars Zero Company today. It's definitely XCOM + Starwars but it's not a "thin re-skin". There are enough (new) systems to make it feel like it's own thing and it has a way bigger focus on characters/storytelling. At times it feels like a tactics version of Mass Effect.

Just discovered "Open Tie" for Tie Fighter. It combines the best of the 1995 CD-ROM edition and the 1998 Windows edition. Using the better (3D) visuals of 1998 for in-flight graphics and the music and menus from the original. It uses data from both installed editions. And adds some good QOL options.

New arrival for the collection. This beautiful X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM edition. In great condition too. I had the jewel case, but not the box. I have two more big boxes coming my way and only a couple I'm looking for. For now it's only own favourites, not trying to start a collector's library.

I thought the amount of hand-holding "Wolverine" does by default was a joke at first, but it's not. Autopilot no-fail driving as well. I know it's suppose to be more of a classic brawler. But in between fights you are pulled in directions by trails and blinking lights. Even for secrets/collectables.

I really hope this project wasn't a nudge back into the genre "he became famous for" by higher ups. As Death Stranding 1 and 2 were his own passion projects, away from his Konami obligations that sort of trapped him in Metal Gear. I hope this is another project he really *wants* to make.

Heretic Episode 5 complete! With playing so many levels back to back i did notice there is gameplay fatigue. But it helps there's still enough variety in map design with some cool varied interiors and colors schemes. Now it's time for the new episode by iD and Nightdive: "Faith Renewed".

Just purchased another classic PC game big box. The fun part is that the box and contents are not only in seemingly great condition, they've added an official strategy guide and a 3.5 inch diskette that was used as a bootdisk at the time with manual handwritten label. Hope it gets here unharmed.

I had a great time playing Wardogs this weekend. Definitely my new main multi-player game for as long as I'm having fun. The game is in great shape for Early Access. I love that you can determine your role/playstyle and go action, just spot enemies or transport goods and/or people. Everything helps.

The games industry is in such a weird balance right now. You have the big three AAA platforms counting on (only) a select few big studios that need so much more time to produce a "system selling" title. And now studios/indies that avoid the AAA blueprints and "rules" produce the big viral hits.

I was surprised I never heard of (or never looked into) "Metal Warriors" for SNES. A "spiritual precursor" to Titanfall, where u can jump out of your mech to get into small spaces and fight soldiers and steal other mechs. It was made by the Lucas Arts dev team behind Zombies ate my Neighbors.

This looks very promising imho. It's the third major adaptation of the original Stephen King novel, so the story itself will be familiar to many. The modern day setting makes it relatable and might carry (ha) a good message for a new generation. And Mike Flanagan is at the helm this time.

Playing a Half-Life randomizer mod. Every voice line, character, item, gun and enemy is random. This specific encounters is now a whole lot more dangerous. It's chaotic and I'm already carrying a rocket launcher and gauss gun. Getting the right ammo is the tricky part.

I saw a lot of people complaining that GTA VI runs 30 fps. Yes, we are at a time when 60 fps should be sort a standard, but rewatching the presentation I'm genuinely more impressed GTA VI runs that well on a base Ps5 with that level of graphical detail in a virtual "living" world. It's true magic.

I was creating characters so I could start playing Zero Company tomorrow, but there's bugs showing up when I was creating characters in the Character Database. Characters replacing each other without names and characters completely disappearing or glitching. That's basic stuff I want fixed first.

Rolled Credits on the "Quake: Dawn of the Machine" campaign by Machine Games. Excellent designed levels, with some very distinct designs and different styles making it a varied mix of Quake experiences with new weapons, fun surprises and environmental storytelling adding to Quake's lore. Very good!

Played more "Quake: Dawn of the Machine" today. The levels keep surprising me with their size, creativity and great design. And they have an average of 13 secrets per level, meaning you can spend multiple hours in one level if you're a no-hint secret hunter like me.
