Okay emulation and retro game fans, I'm looking for recommendations for great "pick up and play" or "no commitment" games, something I can fire up for 2 mins or 20 mins, turn off and not care, my go too is Devil's Crush for PCE, But let me have your recs!

Half my town is shut down for an event. Not looking forward to my shift of doing nothing because we won't have any customers.

Ever have one of those days where all you want is a hug? Only to think to yourself "Hahaha, That'd be nice, but nobody loves me." That's today. Today needs to end.

I work in the liquor industry. Here in my region of Canada we call 375ml bottles of hard alcohol "mickeys" and 200ml bottles "minis" we just had someone ask for a "Disneyland Combo of Alberta Premium" we were confused until he said "A Mickey and a mini" too funny not to share.

A few weeks back I started looking for TUI programs to replace GUI programs I've typically used in the past. I can't get over how much faster I am at the same tasks, with more flexibility. Still prefer GUI for some tasks but will definitely devote more time to trying our more TUI tools.

After almost 2 years of unemployment, I finally found a job! INCOOOOOOOOME! also means I will finally have money to throw at the motorcycle. I would say money to throw at the Homelab too but I'd need another job and willingness to sell my alcohol pickled organs for computer parts in this economy.

Was the only Canadian in an online friend group, whenever I used metric units in conversation I ended up teaching the metric system to everyone, And I had a habit of being right about questions and trivia in general convos. After that the name Metric and later on MetricIsRight just kinda stuck.

I was tinkering with my Niri config, aaand now something is broken. Reverting to the old config file doesnt fix it either. Neither did a full reboot...interesting. This sounds like a job for future me as what it broke is just aesthetic.

More drives and new pool on my homelab done. SearXNG setup and running great. Atuin backups configured. Finally fixed komf not working with Kavita, and cleared out 600Gb of garbage from the main media library. I've been damn productive today, surprising even myself.

I've had so many inquiries from friends/acquaintances and family about installing Linux lately. I'm seriously considering attempting to hold a Linux install party/session in some sort of public space.

The tulips in our front yard are beautiful right now. Shots were taken with my Nikon Zf and some vintage Konica glass.

A Pink tulip just opening with 2 yellow tulips right next to it.

A red and yellow tulip side by side with forget-me-nots surrounding both.

A black and white shot of a tulip just starting to open.

What year is it? 2026? And the general public still hasn't learned to not take out their frustrations at cashiers and service workers? Sad. Just had to tell a guy very firmly to shut up and leave the store for yelling at the cashier till they cried...over a loaf of bread getting knocked open...

Spent all morning making trips to and from a local business. 11 SFF PC's and monitors, all going in the trash due to Win10 EoL. All of them are getting Linux, and going to friends and family for learning or replacements. 2 of them might be turned into servers, we will see.

I'm officially done helping people I know personally who "asked an LLM" how to do something on Linux and have proceeded to fuck their install up or broken something in the process. I am 100% full on unhelpful snarky asshat from here on out.

I don't mind being "the linux guy" in everyone's lives because if there's one thing I've noticed about people hesitant to make the switch it's that there's this idea that linux people are really rude to people asking for help... I wanna counter that. I wanna be nice and helpful
