I keep seeing things about the iPhone Duo and hearing that the buttons move to the right side of the screen so they're easier to reach. Well, I'm left-handed, so it's probably the opposite for left-handed people, then? They made it a lot worse. 😄 Does anyone know anything about that?

Dash0 welcomes Polar Signals to the team. They built the leading continuous profiler for cloud native workloads, with GPU and CUDA support, and created Parca, the open source profiling project behind it. Profiling will live natively in Dash0, next to traces, metrics and logs. eu1.hubs.ly/H0xG-d70

Little experiment: Make percent for pyrra.dev responsive to show as many decimal places as possible. Trailing .000 are trimmed and decimal places are only rounded if not enough space is left.

Working at Polar Signals, I always come at things with a performance mindset. Running evals on our MCP turned out to be exactly that: performance engineering but for the model's context. Measuring the profiling skill's efficiency and effectiveness has been the real fun these past weeks. 😎

We've been working on a major schema migration at @polarsignals.com that has unlocked some pretty wild improvements. Apart from a 50% (!!) reduction in storage size thanks to logical compression in vortex.dev, there has been a dramatic improvement in query performance.

For local development you don't need a dedicated MCP server for CockroachDB, Prometheus, or Jaeger. Just exec into the container and run commands directly. SQL in cockroach, wget the Prometheus HTTP API, same for Jaeger. 😏
