Sounding From the Well. The red cable reaches from the surface down into the Mother Well, where Los Angeles River water waits to be lifted. Draw a bow across the cable. Listen as the well becomes an instrument. Join the Sounding. Fridays in July. 4:00-6:00 PM. Public participation invited.
A line of red cable creates a connection between a stilling well, the Mother Well, at Metabolic Studio. The well sits in a circle at the end of an earthwork “labyrinth”, a switchback path created using hugels, shaped mounds of earth. This sits in front of the Broadway St Bridge, and beside the Los Angeles River.
