26th July, 1918: Death of Major Edward ‘Mick’ Mannock, arguably one of the greatest RFC/RAF pilots to serve on the Western Front. He not only demonstrated great personal aptitude, but was also a very capable leader, doing his utmost to pass on his skills to those under his command.
