This morning from my backyard I watched this red-tailed hawk stand atop this power pole and eat a rat chunk by chunk until it downed the skin and tail in one last satisfying bite.

Last flight of my Xmas vacation, 5h40m wheels up to wheels down in a 737-8. As with previous flights on larger jets, CO2 averaged 1500-1700ppm with spikes during boarding and deplaning—3890(!!) at the end, which I think is the highest reading I’ve ever seen on my @aranethome.bsky.social sensor.

Took a short flight (1h20m) on Christmas in a smallish jet (CRJ-900, 76 passengers) and the CO2 was considerably higher than flights on larger commercial jets. We averaged about 2600ppm and peaked at over 3000. @aranethome.bsky.social

I put info about pre-registering to vote in today's slideshow for class. Most of my juniors weren't aware that you can pre-register in California if you're 16 or 17, so I gave them the link and instructions. I hope they do it! (You better believe that flag was a gif and waving!)

Just changed the filters in the air purifiers that I used in my classroom all year. I had two large ones in opposite corners (Blueair 211i Max) and two small ones near my desk (Blueair 511). Looks like they worked! #CleanIndoorAir #CleanAirClassrooms

I'm a teacher in CA. Our SIS allows parents/guardians to indicate who should be the primary contact. In most cases, both list themselves as primaries, but in some cases only one does, as in the 2nd screenshot. Staff should use this info when contacting home (though some may not).
