bmurator US Avant-garde Black Metal. A one man, Steve Wiener, project. Should I call it multi-coloured BM? Yes! It is now official, BM comes in different colours...:) Having said that, all the tracks here are wildly different! But each & every one of them is addictive & magnetic & captivating
- I am glued to my speakers...:) What a superb project! I am incredibly excited to see & in particular *hear* where Steve takes it next! No faves! Highly recommended!!!

Nocturnal Egg (Jordan) L'ironie est finalement savoureuse : en tant qu'hommage rendu aux ténèbres, le black metal a imposé le minimalisme barbare - et pourtant je ne crois pas connaître d'école ayant accueilli autant de sous-genres que le black metal. Am I in Irouble? s en amuse : comme un pied-de-nez inconscient à Situs Magus, Spectrum est un Grand Œuvre à toutes les couleurs. Avec un talent fou, Steve Wiener concilie les teintes les plus extrêmes avec les plus mélodiques. C'est démesuré, paradoxalement si touchant !

j-kep A vibrant and often surprising take on black and black-adjacent metal that's genuinely wonderful. Also there's a song about Kirby! Favorite track: Pink.
acaDamien What an incredible concept for an album that follows through. As mentioned in other comments this album matches the music to the colors so well.

Sleeping Villager This colorful 31 minute love letter to avant-garde black metal oddity is delightfully fresh and unique. Each track is imbued with the character of its particular color. The sonie palette is broad, the use of guests is smart and seamless.
Spectrum feels like an experiment in color theory in audio form, and that intentionality and attention to detail makes for a wonderful listening experience. Starting 2025 off right with this one!

Ciarán I had high hopes for this album coming off the early singles but the full album blows past even those lofty expectations. Spectrum is a masterpiece of progressive black metal and shouldn't be missed by anyone even vaguely interested in the genre.

It will be released on 3 January and will kick off 2025 in the most beautiful way.
Great avant-garde / progressive Black Metal.

Appalachian Threnodist This album takes damn near everything I love about black metal and wraps it up into one blisteringly beautiful package.
It has shades of acts like Borknagar, Enslaved, Agalloch and others, but those influences are just that. What AliT? has done here is transcend those influences to create a record that's -truly- special and unique and forcefully carves its own path into the annals of black metal history.
This isn't an album to be missed. It's certainly one to be treasured for years to come.

progdolphin Talent oozes through the meticulous web of studied, diverse black metal architecture that Am I in Trouble? possesses. And through Wiener's variegated vision of what this post-leaning, prog-borrowing, and black-dipped style can be, Spectrum shows both its experimental roots and reverent presence. Spectrum swirls with its own shades in established, albeit eclectic, lines. And with a lean run time, it's all the easier to hit over and over.
