The unholy hard truths of being creative online, based on experience (mine & others): - the sex thing will probably always get more attention even if you're genuinely amazing at the other thing - that stupid meme you made in 20 minutes will get more love than your passion project of 2 weeks

Ah, yes, it's CR that's covering MKR's reboot. And it's premium only. I love the original. I call it my true gateway drug of Anime cuz it's the first I had to actively seek out instead of was just my weekday afternoon stuff. But I am not paying to watch the reboot.

Really enjoying how this is knitting up. Makes me almost wish I wasn’t so far into my sock marathon that started in July or August.

Trying to give DCC (or rather CDS) a second try by doing the audio book, and it’s better that way, but also it seriously is a story that would be so good if only it were good.

I'm probably a little weird cuz I decided to put "Having a normal one" as a (mostly) good thing with Lin. We're so back is almost as bad in excess as It's so over. Too much "We're so back" and things can and will go badly and flop.

I have a slap bracelet ruler. It's for socks, mostly, but it can be for other things. (One side marks where you start decreases for US shoe sizes, the other is a traditional ruler) I annoyed my cat with it by turning it into a round thing then tossing it like a toy, which he chased.

wwxwashere.bsky.social @wwxwashere.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

Each of these little bits is 100-something stitches, so I need at least two rounds done on the sock per, and I would prefer to do the sock, so more like 10 before I reach for the vibrant yarn. (Which also means an inch done cuz it’s like 8-10 rounds per inch.

for fandom to be enjoyable everyone needs to learn to: - block each other more - learn to not care if you’re blocked - see a stupid opinion? move on - someone told you that your opinion is stupid? oh well - engage only with things you find value in

2-color brioche is just mosaic knitting. You do one color and then the next. It’s a rhythm of one row of each instead of two, but it works the same way.

Was anyone gonna tell me that there's offical Mario Knitting patterns that were on a game disc as a proto-knit companion or was I supposed to find that out from the see-also of a wiki article when I checked for the proper spelling of Selvage.

Gusset done! Which means I'm on Stockinette hell for 4.5 inches! (I love being in stockinette hell, I just call it as I see it) I've been a good girl. Can I do some of Section 2 of my shawl?

I find it ironic when people tell others to use AI or get left behind, because clearly Gen-AI wouldn't be a thing if it weren't for the works of human-made art & literature. So if you do use Gen-AI & you only use that, then you're the one who's left behind when it comes to skills & creativity.

My cat just hid in a spot I didn't know existed. Damn chonk. I love him and am glad he's safe, but now I have new fear.

My projects continue. It takes little time to do the leg when asked for shorties, so gusset time. If I focus on this, it should be finished by Thanksgiving as expected.

A knitting WIP made of white and weathered blue yarn. The cuff and heel are white and the rest blue. The heel is pushed back as several stitches are on the needle and there’s a decrease line poking from the edge of the white heel down to the needle.

Seriously, that time he banged on the keyboard to help me type his demands. If I didn't think it'd break this site, I'd've let him keep his contribution of random symbols.

"Time to knit some socks!" "Did you mean pet the cat?" "No I did not mean pet the cat. I need to do a heel fl--" "You meant pet the cat -snuggle snuggle-"

As much fun as the Color Kaleidoscope is, even with my kryptonite, I did have a project to do before it, so after doing section 1 of clue one, I am going to make a pair of socks, then reward myself with section 2 and maybe 3 of clue one. It’s more a reward for good behavior now. #knitting 🧶

A blue and white knit WIP . It looks like a tube with white at the top and a feathered blue at the bottom. At the very edge on the needle is a couple rows of white again as the heel starts. There’s a lime green point protector on the needle.

I have to think about Lin and Teri some, but Mneme I know for a fact doesn't use it. On the seventh, there would have been a lot of official channels on everything for them, but they never touched them, They weren't allowed to even they were trusted to be polite (They wouldn't)

Seriously, who do I need to bribe for a good System story. It's a genre with so much promise even if it's often power-fantasy-y.

Such a shame about that. I keep wanting some good System stories, but with Tapas shutting down I need to get smart about finding my loves.

Downgrading DCC as I DNF the second book. If they weren't five bucks each, I wouldn't think they were worth it. It's not bad. It ain't good, but it's also not bad. But it is... for those who just aged out of the Maestro's target demographic? Maybe aged out of what followed if I'm generous.

I once spoke about how I've learned to "Pre-grieve" Without going into details, I can say it worked. Something happened a while ago with a family member (They are fine, but it was spotty), and while it hurt, it wasn't as hurt as the situation.

Memento Moé @mementolin.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

Related to that addition, but unrelated to TNHoD, that's actually my plan for a bit of a pastiche I'm writing of Rofan OI goodness. The FL has an arranged marriage. He's older than her (About 5-10 years) and she likes him well enough, but isn't attracted to him. He isn't to her.

Been also readin The Natural History of Dragons, which is a different kind of fun. This is a lot more serious, plus while I didn't realize it at the time, it's also set in a kind of fun Victorian-esque time period. With Dragons. Hell yes.

Been reading Dungeon Crawler Carl. It's... fun. It's not meant to be anything fancy. Just your usual System Power Fantasy. Even if having had a calico (A DSH, but still) Princess Donut, the Queen Anne Chonk, is spot-on behavior wise. My cat wants to know if she's available.

I knit to Critical Role. This episode it was stress knitting, and not just cuz of what was going on in the episode. I hate short rows, especially when they require precision like this. (Minor spoilers for the Color Kaleidoscope Shawl MKAL with a before and after)

The start of the Color Kaleidoscope Shawl. There are wedges in mint green and midnight blue. Currently three of each with the fourth mint a couple rows in.

The same shawl as pic one, only now there are five of both colors

Yesterday I picked up my medicine. Was told “hey you can get store credit if you do two shots!” Sure, cuz insurance means two free shots and free lunch. Did fine. Today I wake up at a sensible hour, am up for three then go to chill and sleep for another four ish.
