Carney understands the world has changed and is creating diversification. Canada did rely too much on the USA, but it was mutually beneficial for us all. However Trump magnified the risk of that reliance. Canada will future proof trade. The shift has already started, hence the USA attempt to stop it

Carney is in an horrible spot and I believe has taken the longer term view of the situation. If he accepts a bad deal, it hurts us long term. No deals hurt us short term but can be rebuilt globally with diversification. Eventually the US will have new leaders but our trades won't return to normal

Something happened to Vlad in May, I suspect he had a nagging issue that got amplified on May 24th when he missed a few games from a HBP. At this point put Vlad on the IL. It looks like he's been injured since some time in July when he tweaked his back and multiple back/hammy issues. Giving him 1-2 days off periodically is not doing the trick. He's a mess at the plate give him a physical and mental break.

The smoke is an unfortunate result of these massive forest burns. The wind conditions have changed with more smoke going south, the jet stream has changed the direction of the smoke. So it's not a new event but conditions have changed the impact.

These are almost entirely not man made fires. Canada has had 2X the global average in warming, this causes earlier snow melts, dryer conditions and longer dry periods. An increase of lightning strikes causes these vast flammable forests to burn. These cause 80-90% of the area bunt.

Dear Americans, Canada has forest fire data back to 1980 available online. We have vast forests, the largest intact Boreal forest in the world. Most of the areas that have fires are lightly populated. This isn't new but it has been worse the last few years. There were big burns in the 80s & 90s.

This weekend we rescued this girl from a Canadian Tire parking lot. The leading theory is she got transferred in some pallets. A very tiny girl, but brought her to the vet and she seems healthy. She is eating a ton now and is very cuddly, after she gives a little tough hiss.

If he has a solid year in 26 or 27 he returns to the market and makes way more. If he has a career year, during his age 28-29 seasons which should be peak years, he can easily destroy that contract. Outside of 2024 Bo has be a highly valued player. I easily see the win here for Bo and his agent.

The Bo to Mets deal hits harder than Tucker. Bo & Vlad have been the glue of the Blue Jays offense. They grew up together and have been our greatest homegrown combo. Bo pivoting to a short term deal with 2 opt outs at 42M a season is a no question deal on his part. Wish him well but sad day.
