Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 05/04/2026I kinda liked both Scranton and Toledo. But I may have gone in with low expectations. 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 02/04/2026Haha stuff I never knew I needed until I experienced the not havingness 070
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 02/04/2026And! Accessible outlets, drapes that close all the way, a fully opaque bathroom door… Funny that these are all things I have at home (cancels trip) 1180
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 22/03/2026At the time of the post-9/11 anthrax attacks at the Capitol, members of the military were given an experimental anthrax vaccine, no opt outs allowed AFAIK. I still remember my friend in the Air Force and my friend the veterinarian having an animated discussion about it! 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 09/03/2026Yes, Age of Aquarius - that’s the one that came to my mind as well. Didn’t help that I’m an Aquarius. 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 04/03/2026Bookkeeper and engraver at the Bureau of Engraving and Printing. So one of ‘em made money by literally making money. 030
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 01/03/2026I took my cat for a walk, that takes real dedication to finding something else to do. 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 16/02/2026Oh, my Dad’s favorite typeface! (he was a typesetter). We had a bunch of this in type cases in the house I grew up in. At the movies he’d tell me all about what type the title lettering was. Miss ya dad! 030

Then they hired a coach who coached Polynesian rugby players at USC? And rugby players do know how to tackle? So they taught rugby tackling to NFL players and won the Superbowl?m.youtube.comSeahawks TacklingYouTube video by Robert Ruston 4505
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 07/02/2026Rugby tackle - This is the Way I learned how to do this in one season playing women’s rugby in college and frankly I feel it is a valuable life skill. 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 03/02/2026All jazz is fraggle jazz, that’s what makes it jazz (IMO) 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 31/01/2026Good list! When Nunavut was declared its own territory in 1999 I mentioned it at a party in DC and no one knew how many territories and provinces there were. Harvard grads! Government lawyers! Boy, I was smug that day. 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 28/01/2026Thank you for this powerful testimony. Folks in Minnesota are really showing us all how it’s done. 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 27/01/2026Making me miss my former neighbor Rusty. He took out large chunks of my driveway’s asphalt but I could get my Mazda 3 hatchback out! 030
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 18/01/2026Yeah, someone shot a rifle just over my head once while I was riding my bike on a public road 2 blocks outside town. I just made a note to ride back via a different route. 001
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 25/12/2025Dial M For Murder, The Third Man, African Queen, On the Waterfront, Rear Window, Casablanca… some of my favorites 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 20/12/2025Yes, I understand how you feel. All you can do is be that warm & loving presence. They can tell and they know. 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 19/12/2025Halp! The Onion newsletter today contains a headline that is … actually true and I do not like it. @bencollins.bsky.social 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 15/12/2025Forecast calls for a week of rain so I’m glad I got my sunshine-y photo in time. 070
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 15/12/2025Hard to really grasp how much I grew up with his movies. I was the age of the kids in Stand By Me, in my twenties saw When Harry Met Sally with my best friend (a guy) and we both loved it. Spinal Tap was about all the dumb bombastic rock I listened to on top 40 radio. Gah. 030
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 15/12/2025I have a terrible sense of direction. Had to fly to Toledo, OH for a wedding. Had a paper map and compass in my rental car. Did great! (Also it’s a small city with some neat stuff, turns out) I still ❤️ a good map. 040
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 11/12/2025Got one at Trader Joe’s and it’s been in full bloom for like 3.5 months. Crazy. 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 04/12/2025How about bullet points on why 2 out of 3 (or whatever it is these days) IT implementations fail (aka why SAP makes people cry). Then underlings can just point to the appropriate one when something’s going off the rails. 010
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 01/12/2025Ha, welp. It’s hard to, um, get the balance right, I know how it is. (Applies heat pad to tummy) 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 26/11/2025Yeah. Look, lots of people with disordered thinking go to DC, and head to the WH for odd/disturbed reasons. It’s a bad idea to have uniformed, but not trained in law enforcement, folk right there to be targets of that. 020
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 16/11/2025Really appreciate this tale (as another Watergate baby). 020
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 03/11/2025We’ve got the antenna and as a bonus taped an old wire hanger to it. Works great on days with no wind! 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 31/10/2025You can perhaps replace it in the nick of time a la the sitcom goldfish 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 31/10/2025This is incredible. Thank you for sharing your efforts! The lavender would like mainly full sun and fast-draining (not clay) soil, and to live in a spot with good air movement if humid. 100
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 30/10/2025Stats classes often include the unit on disproving hot hands theory. So, yeah. 020
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 26/10/2025The Western Larches are looking good right now. Winter is coming… 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 25/10/2025My uncle, a WWII glider pilot, crash landed behind enemy lines in Vichy France, was hidden by the resistance until the SS broke down the door. Spent the rest of the war playing chess as a POW. What a fellow! 050
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 23/10/2025That’s a legit concern. Hope pols can take a fresh look at what groups they want support from. 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 22/10/2025Both my senators are 🔥🔥🔥 Wish all the others would step up. 120
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 21/09/2025This is sounds like it’s from the Greatest Hits of Ask a Manager. Gah. 000
Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 19/09/2025Good to know! This was Oregon and we really had to book it up a steep hill to reach it. I think we made it in “time” in our test run but it was close! 010

Melody Bomgardner @melodymb.bsky.social · 03/07/2025I just want to highlight the below. It’s extremely true. 000
