Got my ass kicked for the first time yesterday in my mahjong club, ending with this incredible defense in sanma. Proud teacher moment!

A game of Sanma (3-Player) Riichi Mahjong at an exhaustive draw, with the POV player declaring tenpai (ready-hand) for thirteen orphans waiting on the East Wind, their Shimocha (right-hand player) declaring tenpai waiting on the 8 of Bamboo, and their Toimen (across player) declaring noten (not ready), but showing uncalled quads of both the East Wind and 8 of Bamboo.

Yesterday in my IRL mahjong group I won with Kokushi IRL (my first IRL yakuman!) and later in the day witnessed Shousuushi for the first time and won with ryanpeiko (my favorite hand in Riichi) I could ride this high for like a week.

The Riichi Mahjong hand, Kokushi Musou (English: "Thirteen Orphans") shown being won from the toimen's (player across the table) discard of the Nan (South Wind) tile.
