And then when you go to cancel they try and capture you by reducing it by half for two months, which doesn’t make up for most of the rest of the year. Fuck all this shit “saving $14 off a 24.1% increase is still a 16.5% increase from base.
Confirm cancellation window for ending Apple TV services with an option to “get 54% off your next two months, $5.99/ month vs $12.99 a month.

24.1% increase on Apple TV, which I’ve only been subscribing to for a handful of shows. Non-essential expenses are all being cut to survive the fascist totalitarian world that Tim Cook & every other CEO that cozies up to fascism has created, y’all can suck my ass. #apple #pricehike
Screenshot of email from Apple TV Services notification of Subscription Price Increase. With overlay of response from customer. “ Time to teach companies that casual 24.1% price increases for their non-essential services are a no go when you’re a business that facilitates fascism. Fuck everything, burn it all down.

Isn’t this stuff important in using the scientific method? How does stuff like this jump to mainstream bad science interpretation, so quickly?
Highlighted quote from article”It lacked a control arm consisting of similar young adults who were not long-distance runners, he noted, and the family histories of colon cancer among the marathoners were not entirely known.

“It’s possible exercising didn’t cause the problem but was in fact the reason they became long-distance runners; because someone dear to them had cancer,” Dr. Rubin suggested.”

I’m one of these average persons, but this is how my conservative parents read about it over at the Wall Street Journal. “Some enrollees could be hit with increases of more than 20% because of federal changes & higher health expenses” Republicans voted for this with cuts to Medicare & Medicad & SNAP

For anyone that wants to read an engrossing novel about what kind of future this is we’re possible living and moving towards, check out @lailalalami.com ‘s Dream Hotel. Then get offline, maybe forever…
Book over for Laila Lalami’s novel ‘The Dream Hotel’, which is a matte Violet rectangle superimposed over another rectangle that fades quickly from tomato red to reddish brown-black and features a miniaturized human figure silhouette and its shadow projected into the fading rectangle.

This particular cover also has a “Signed First Edition” gold metallic sticker superimposed in the top right of the cover and a subscript that proclaims ‘Pulitzer Prize Finalist’. But Percival Everette won that for James.

Here’s a snippet from one of my favorites, hard to pick just one.
Fr. Every Forest, Every Film

When I still lived in the city, I worked as a film critic for a poorly distributed, religiously read magazine and had gained a reputation for being overly critical. Hating everything was my entire personality, another reviewer wrote on their blog. I lived in a one-room apartment where for a design reason that remained unclear the toilet was in the middle of the living room. When a guest used it, I'd step onto the fire escape and listen to cars zing by. New York was thrilling and expensive and I spent most of every day feeling successful for staying alive.

So much illuminated in the characters and scene setting by @catherinelacey.bsky.social…another roaring episode of laughter from this reader, such a perfect distillation of so much of contemporary art scene culture & particular ways #biographyofx
He was one of those male artists obsessed with the void. All the male artists were making art about the void, and, you know, it sold quite well. But this one— he'd become frustrated with some of his sculptures—they weren't void enough, he said — so he'd burned them and I had agreed to exhibit the ash.
