Realized a little while ago that the very thought of drawing was putting me into panic attacks. So my partner said it was probably cause everything I drew was for a project and I started associating art with deadlines and needing to be perfect. That made me really sad.

be wary the pink. be wary the rose. beware of beauty divine, unopposed ✨ another set of character designs from the shepherd king duology, this time ione (x2) and prince elm #art

three figures standing on an off-white background. the first, ione, a smiling young woman with blond hair and a green dress. the second, also ione, is magically altered, smoothing out any imperfections. her blonde hair is longer and she wears a pink dress. the last figure, prince elm, is a tall man with auburn hair, dressed in greens and browns with a sword at his hip

there once was a girl, clever and good, who tarried in shadow in the depths of the wood ✨ character designs of elspeth and ravyn from the shepherd king duology, a series that i have literally not been able to get out of my head since i finished them earlier this year! #art

two figures standing on a cream background: elspeth spindle, a young woman with pale skin and long dark hair braided over her shoulder. she wears a grey dress and her right hand is black and clawed, with black veins creeping down under her sleeve. the other is ravyn yew, a tall young man with dark hair and darker skin. he wears all grey clothing with his hand resting on the hilt of a sword at his waist, yew leaves embellished on the scabbard.

Fandom needs interaction to thrive, if u want to keep enjoying art, fic, edits, animations, silly little hcs, and all of that gud stuff, give some of the love back that creators pour out for you, fandom shouldn't be /content/ to mindlessly consume, let it be a dialogue of love and appreciation 🙏✨❤️

I think a big fandom shift in interacting with stuff has gone from people commenting under the created thing whether it be fic or art to people linking it in private discord groups where the person who made it will never see any positive comments left on the thing they made.

Commission your friends for art. Give them dollars (this makes them happy) in exchange for drawing you like (this makes you happy). This is symbiosis. This is a healthy ecosystem. Support your friends. Support art. Support your friends' art.

A few years ago, any time i saw a trend with art in the fandom going around, i would feel guilty or angry with myself for not joining cause I had no time. Now I have time technically but I just look at it and go "too tired, I'll just enjoy what everyone else is doing" lol Growth 😌

If stuff like this is allowed to pass, hundreds of thousands of your favorite artists will be hit, and possibly disappear due to fees they can't pay, or jail time. Y'all gotta fight this at every step. If you live in OK, you gotta get LOUD about this. If it gets here, I'M going to get loud abt it.

Does anyone else keep a list of every ship they've ever liked and update it sometimes where you just kinda remove old ones that don't do it for you anymore while also adding new ones? 🥹

Guys, I also want more artists (fanartists, ficwriters or whatever) to publish on bluesky, but they need to have their art republished and engaged! Remember that bluesky doesn’t work the same as x! Likes are important, but rt are essential for the content to reach other people!!

Been thinking about this a lot (not tagging the sender, for their privacy). Most of us won't have the chance for for grand, capital-R Resistance heroics. But every one of us will have a thousand small choices to make about how to live our lives and where to draw lines. Use them well.

Post from John Perricone

Several years ago l invited a Buddhist monk to speak to my Senior elective class, and quite interestingly, as he entered the room, he didn't say a word (that caught everyone's attention). He just walked to the board and wrote this: "EVERYONE WANTS TO SAVE THE WORLD, BUT NO ONE WANTS TO HELP MOM DO THE DISHES." We all laughed. But then he went on to say this to my students:
"Statistically, it's highly unlikely that any of you will ever have the opportunity to run into a burning orphanage and rescue an infant. But, in the smallest gesture of kindness -- a warm smile, holding the door for the person behind you, shoveling the driveway of the elderly person next door -- you have committed an act of immeasurable profundity, because to each of us, our life is our universe."

The TikTok CEO being vocally supportive of Trump and that eerie message we are all getting in app is enough to make me nuke my account once access is restored later this week. Owners of social media platforms being buddy buddy with government fascists is dystopian af.
