Have you ever tried a DJ program like Mixxx for that? mixxx.org You can organise stuff into “crates” and/or playlists, might be handy. Works with keyboard shortcuts too, you wouldn’t necessarily need a DJ controller. Also, haven’t tried this, but you can stream directly from there

We’ve been building up our network of friends on there for two decades, it’s so difficult really It feels so precarious. Any of these platforms can change or disappear at any point on some CEO’s whim. Safer to build up parallel networks elsewhere! You’re right tho, don’t have to leave to do that

Been algorithm-free over on the Fediverse for a while now. AND I use an RSS app, to read long-form blog posts from people whose words I literally choose to read! It’s fuckin delightful. 🌻 I wish I could share these delightful findings with friends, it’s really hard to explain though.

Once you’re away from The Algorithm, it’s very hard to go back. You post. No-one sees it. You’re pressured to modify your behaviour and self-presentation to please the algo. Repeat. Repeat. How is this not psychologically damaging? How is this not changing our society in gross creepy ways?
