Sounds about right. But you never know. Shuri is now obsessed with a bed that has been sitting in my room for years.

I know I have been silent. I just needed a break. There is so much going on, and I find it hard to keep up. I don't know how professionals do it. Regardless, I had to get back into it and talk about what happened in Chicago this week. Take a look at my latest blog post.

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month! As a Puerto Rican woman, this years celebration is especially important to me as Spanish people are being kidnapped by masked individuals. And now with SCOTUS' ruling, simply looking Spanish will make you a target. Never forget, diversity is what makes us great.

I must admit, I am crying at the thought of what this bill will do to the country. And within these tears is the fear of what ICE will now be able to get away with due to the additional power the bill gives them. I was barely safe before & now it's only going to get worse. Read my post about it.

In 1917, Congress passed the Jones Act, granting citizenship to Puerto Ricans. All this regime has to do is write one EO to put a bigger target on our backs. And now with SCOTUS' ruling, birthright citizenship to any Puerto Rican born in the states could be stripped. That includes me and my family.

SCOTUS just made a horrifying decision in terms of Planned Parenthood, simply because the GOP can't get their heads out of women's uteruses. This decision will have dire consequences, especially for low-income patients.

What the actual fuck!? The only students who would be mensurating are cis-girls and trans-boys. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason that a school band would need to know this information. I don't care what "excuse" they have. This is about control. This is about humiliation. This is about power. Period!

As ICE snatchings escalate even more, a need has arisen to carry papers showing proof of citizenship. This will mostly come in the form of a certified birth certificate. Check out my post to read my thoughts on this matter. #immigrantrights

The family came here legally. They are not criminals. They are not "illegals." They were granted entrance for the sole purpose of saving this little girl's life. And this regime is taking that opportunity away from them. She will die in Mexico. www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/...

The so-called "Pro-life" party is deporting a 4-year-old girl who will die without the treatment she is currently receiving. This story is appalling. It is proof that the GOP doesn't care about life. They don't care about children. They care about control. #immigrantrights youtu.be/SsLBPowZ4p0?...

There are people who see a 75 year old working & think they're too old, but then vote for someone who's older. Its crazy. I think there should be limits because they create policies that can effect people after their gone. If they're not going to be here for them, they shouldn't be creating them.

This is disgusting. What this family is going through is uncalled for. The so-called "Pro-life" GOP is forcing this family to keep this poor woman alive. Will they pay the medical bills from this? Will they pay to ensure the baby has a good life? The answer is No. #abortionrights #endthewaronwomen

You'll notice there is no info on where we went in London which you'd think would be important for contact tracing. It's all about where we're staying in the US. As a citizen, I didn't check off the 'visitor' box on the form. Visitors beware. This is their way of tracking you.

I had a heated discussion w/a white friend on this exact issue. She couldn't understand why having a real ID on me wasn't enough to prove citizenship. She couldn't understand that citizens where getting snatched b/c ICE isn't asking/looking for citizenship until hours after someone is detained.

110

Melissa Delavida @melissadelavida.com · 10/04/2025

This will not end well. ICE is just going to assume that anyone who looks like me who didn't report in as being here illegally, is in fact here illegally. I've said it from day one, it's guilty until they think you're innocent. And being a citizen doesn't help. #immigrantrights
