Images of Danny DeVito are everywhere in San Francisco. For several years, an anonymous street artist has sprayed images of Ongo Gablogian, a wig-wearing alter ego of DeVito’s character in “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” on walls across the city.

When San Francisco cable cars are too worn for the rails, they head to a Dogpatch carpentry shop, where a four-man crew rebuilds them piece by piece — and sometimes leaves hidden mementos for future generations to find.

Happy SF Bike to Wherever Day! I did a lovely route across town and ended the excursion by unintentionally swallowing a lot of sand in the Outer Sunset. Would do it again.

California has a fascination with ghost towns. But what if a town isn’t quite a ghost town? Residents in Darwin, Calif. say the fascination has brought trespassers and misconceptions to a community of real people trying to sustain daily life in a tiny desert town. www.sfgate.com/california/a...

Come to San Francisco, you’ll love the Burmese food. My newest profile with Burma Love, a crowd favorite in the Bay that won “Best Burmese restaurant” in our annual SFGATE Best of Bay Area readers’ choice awards last year. Try the tea leaf salad — it’s insane.

San Francisco has a reputation for bad style — think dress sneakers, tech company t-shirts and backpacks with suits. As New York Magazine once put it: “S.F. style is the clothing equivalent of water. The taste is so neutral, you can’t be sure it’s there.”
