How do we speed up tundra recovery after sand extraction? My MSc student Jacob Ledoux-Deguire is testing the Rough & Loose approach and local organic debris to help native plants return This borrow pit (Puvirnituq) was restored just 3 years ago. 🌱 Not bad! #Restoration #Nunavik #ArcticEcology

Hey field ecologists 👋 What are you using to ID your plots for short-term studies? I’ve tried spray paint, flagging tape, thin metal tags, but none of it really lasts more than 1-2 yrs, and it leave a bit of a mess behind. I always clean up, but it still doesn’t feel ideal #peatecr #peatsky

Start of fieldwork season! Some days feel like paradise with easy access and nice boardwalks… and other days you end up covered in peat. But that’s the beauty of working in peatlands 😄 Hope we didn’t scare off the first-year field assistant…! #peatsky #peatecr #peatlands #restoration
