Layers of mountain ridges fading into the haze at Chinook Pass, WA. I like how the farther ridges become softer and bluer, creating a strong sense of depth. #LandscapePhotography #PacificCrestTrail #MountainPhotography
Layered mountain ridges fade into blue-gray haze near Sheep Lake along the Pacific Crest Trail, with each distant ridge becoming softer and lighter in tone. Evergreen-covered slopes frame the valley under a pale sky. The scene feels quiet and expansive.

Early autumn yielded a particularly good windfall at the Sheep Tree this year.

The man who found a way to bankrupt a casino is on the verge of bankrupting the Kennedy Center. Everything he touches he destroys.   The reflecting pool, the East Wing, the Kennedy Center, & every monument in America belong to the PEOPLE. They're not his to remake, remodel, or destroy.

The Kennedy Center was solvent when Trump took over. Then its finances collapsed.
The Post examined 15 years of the institution’s financial records to see why it went south after the president took over.

Being able to write a romance in a novel is not the same thing as being able to write a romance novel, though. One is a plot point. The other is working within a genre space with established market expectations.

Yes it could be argued that keeping up with world events is important but alternatively can I interest you in hugging an ancient mossy boulder that looks like a face and quietly listening while it tells you stories from centuries cloaked in mist.
A lovely mossy boulder with a face. I walked past this venerable stone gentleman on Dartmoor when I was beginning to write my first novel, Villager, and it whispered all 104,000 words of the book to me. So now I have to pay it all of my royalties. Unfortunately my ex-publisher stopped paying me royalties last year. Understandable, the boulder was not happy. But now I have a new publisher and the book has been republished. So remember if you purchase a copy you will be helping a boulder to eat, pay the rent on his riverside moss garden, and feed his boulder family.

Very probably the best photo I've ever taken of a 16th Century dovecote with a cow standing in front of it, surrounded by buttercups, looking like she has just dropped a debut album she is thoroughly proud of.
A cow, standing in front of the dovecote in Bruton, Somerset, about a month ago. Lovely town. Beautiful architecture. Had a chat with a really nice lady from an old farming family after I took this. Sadly quite a few stuck-up down-from-London snotbags live there these days and houses cost a fortune as a result.

For many years I'd heard old folk in the village whisper about The Listening Tree, but I had believed it was just mystical gossip passed down through generations, the superstitious nonsense of terminally bored people. Then one cold day, lost in the woods, I turned a corner & my life changed forever.
A mossy tree I found on Dartmoor possessing a large ear which I was very afraid to put my hand into.

Saturday morning at Tipsoo Lake, I waited for alpenglow on Mount Rainier. The light started faint, then warm golden-red tones appeared on the summit, with pink reflected in the still water. A peaceful morning, well worth the early start. 🏔️📷 #Alpenglow #TipsooLake #LandscapePhotography
Mount Rainier’s snowy summit glows with peach-colored sunrise light, mirrored in the still water of Tipsoo Lake. Tall, dark evergreens frame the snowy mountain beneath a pale blue sky, with a grassy shoreline between mountain and reflection. The scene feels peaceful and still.
