Two stray cats were yowling incessantly at each other outside my house for five straight minutes, so I went outside and told them (yes, out loud at 6:30 AM) that life’s too short to fight & to work it out & knock it off. I went inside & haven’t heard a peep since. Friends, I am a peacemaker.

Now that I spend all day every day with teenagers as an English teacher, I forgive her. She did the best she could in the circumstances she was under. She could have done a lot worse, but she mostly resorted to music & creative endeavors as an escape. I’m proud of her for surviving.

Look at this hummingbird moth! I just found out they exist, thanks to my mom’s pollinator garden.

An insect that looks like a hybrid between an elongated bumblebee and a hummingbird, with partially transparent moth wings. It’s drinking nectar from the purple flowers of a butterfly bush.
