The first couple of episodes of the new season of Scrubs are doing a much better job of balancing the old and new casts I think. Promising. Still needs a new fourth wall breaker though.

While I was volunteering at the Fringe one of the volunteers asked me what kind of music I like and/or what concerts I'd been to and I kinda had no way to answer this. I realized that I just don't.. know how to talk about music. I do *like music*, but I spent so much time in my formative years […]

It's so funny when a cat will clearly want pets and attention and grooming, but they sit just at the edge of your reach or even just beyond it. Like.. Why are you making this so hard on yourself my friend? I would love to pet you but you are making it SO HARD.

I joined the fall Zelda 2 All Keys speedrun tournament even though I've barely touched the game in a couple years, which means my dusty old twitch channel (twitch.tv/megmactv) will be going live occasionally over the next few weeks if you want to hang out and watch me flail lol.

Megan, she/her though they/them is fine too. In need of a new hobby, I've turned to streaming playing retro games. Why not? Current obsession is Zelda Randomizer, particularly the configuration used in a nightly race. Also want to play some hard mario hacks. — megmactv streams live on Twitch! Weird thing about me as a retro tech collector, I will probably never remove these blockbuster stickers from this cartridge. Not because doing so might damage something on the cart itself but because they're part of the story and history of the cartridge and I like keeping that. #retrogaming
A virtual boy Red Alarm cartridge's front. There are worn white stickers on both sides of it. If you look closely and fill in the gaps the one on the right says "if this label is removed, you must purchase this video." The back of the cartridge with more worn blockbuster stickers. The sticker says:

"Just to REMIND,
please REWIND.
Thanks. THE END.

I think it's really funny how all the trailers before the transformers 40th anniversary theatrical rerelease were for kids movies. Even funnier though is that almost every one of those trailers had a needle drop on a 40ish year old song.

I also think that just straight up alternating serious and silly really makes it hard to ignore that the season is half and half and that feels a bit weird in its own way. They kinda did this in previous seasons but never quite so blatantly.

Meg @megmac.treehouse.systems.ap.brid.gy · 18/09/2026
If there's a fault I don't think it lies with the silly episodes. I think the problem is the serious episodes are maybe not pulling their weight as much as they should. I think thrice been pretty forgettable this season.

Seems like I'm pretty alone in this among online trek fans but I'm pretty ok with this season of snw being kinda dumb to be honest. It's not very tng, but I do think it's pretty close to a more silver age of sf sensibility that tos exemplified pretty well and that's the world the show is […]

It really feels like the new season of Ted Lasso was written by two completely different set of writers, and for some reason they forgot half the plots they set up in the first episode until after halfway through the season.

Did people like the backrooms movie? It seems to have good reviews but I kinda feel like it wasn't ambitious enough at being either "horror" or "weirdcore". Like I just spent the whole thing wishing David Lynch had made it. He would have made it *weird*.

Unified theory of food: bibimbap and poutine are the same kind of food because they both (ideally) start actually cooking when you serve them and the process of eating them is part of the process of cooking them.

White House Removes Awful Tetris Clone From Website After The Tetris Company Posted It Takes ‘Copyright Infringement Very Seriously’
The White House has quietly removed a racist and not-very-well-made _Tetris_ clone from its awful “arcade” website. The move comes shortly after The Tetris Company publicly criticize the clone while reminding everyone that it has a history of going after clones and knock-offs in court. It seems Trump and the rest of his goons blinked and yanked the parody game in response. On September 4, the White House launched a new website hosting a handful of racist and nasty web games that were clearly inspired by more popular games, including a Snake clone where players collect immigrants in a long chain behind a white officer in order to remove them from the United States. All of the games played like shit, looked bad, and pushed the administration’s failing policies around tariffs and immigration. ©White House / Kotaku – _The White House arcade website as of September 8. Build The Wall is gone._ One such game was a _Tetris_ clone of sorts in which players built the fabled “wall” on the border between Mexico and the United States. Just a few hours after the site went live, The Tetris Company posted publicly online to clarify that it had nothing to do with the game, that it believed in connecting people, and, importantly, that it takes “copyright infringement very seriously.” You can see that on the company’s Wikipedia page, where its longest section involves its various legal battles (including some overzealous ones) against other studios and businesses. And, as spotted by _VGC_ , seemingly due to that threat, and possibly a letter from a lawyer, the _Tetris_ clone about building the wall is no longer on the White House arcade site. As of the morning of September 8, _Build the Wall_ is no longer playable on the White House’s web game portal. This appears to be one of the first real examples of a video game company hinting at a possible legal challenge against the Trump administration’s continued use of video game imagery. We’ve seen the White House use AI and video editing tools to create propaganda featuring _Halo, Pokémon, Call of Duty, Animal Crossing,_ and more. In many of those cases, the companies publicly made it clear they weren’t involved, but didn’t threaten any legal action or even hint at the possibility. The Tetris Company, on the other hand, said “Nah” and has seemingly won. Turns out you don’t fuck with The Tetris Company. Hopefully some other video game companies grow a spine and push back in the future.
