i love her as kleya and i’m excited to see what they do with the character, but damnit i mourn the leia content we could get with her as the recast

Elizabeth Dulau for Vogue Singapore. She’s sitting in a metal-framed chair with black leather backing in front of a gray, concrete-looking background. She’s wearing a brown leather Ferragamo set. The top is buttoned up with two large pockets on the front. The bottom of the jacket is unbuttoned to reveal her midriff and give the piece a cropped appearance. Her hair is in a messy high bun with one piece loose on the side of her face. She’s wearing red lipstick and blush with understated eye makeup.

You all need to treat Harry Potter IP like we’re treating the Tesla brand.

Twitter post/pohoto from JK Rowling who sits on what looks like yacht, taking a puff of what looks like a cigar. She holds a cocktail close to her face and looks smug as fuck. Text on tweet: I love it when a plan comes together. #SupremeCourt #WomensRights.

Text on screen: our.moral.imperative British billionaire JK Rowling has posted several gloating tweets today after the UK
Supreme Court ruled that only 'biological women' legally count as women, excluding trans women from legal protections and safeguards.
Rowling's vicious smear campaign against trans people in Britain has been going on for several years now and has played a major role in cultivating the extremely hostile and toxic environment that exists in the country towards trans people, particularly in the name of liberal 'feminism'.

Keeping your housing insecure neighbor housed, or your immigrant neighbor safe, or helping your friend get abortion or gender affirming care? THAT is where it starts. And that's not the kind of thing you sign up for or post about on social media. But that kind of thing IS the revolution.

Kidnapping. Capturing a person against their will without due process is called kidnapping. Transporting them to another country without due process is called human trafficking. A squalid extrajudicial prison for people found guilty of no crime is called a concentration camp.

the “let me save you” versus the “have faith that i will save myself”

Xiri leaned on a massive boulder and stretched.
Gella, once again, stood in front of her. "You know I can't let you die, right?"
"I thought a Jedi would have a few more encouraging words," she said, hoping her bravado masked her nerves.
"He favors his left leg when he walks," Gella said.
"He's big, but you're fast."
"See?" She smiled.
Gella squeezed Xiri's shoulder. "May the Force be with you."
"I don't need the Force," she said inhaling the scent of stone. "I am the heir of the thylefire scorpion and that is the only strength I need."

“Gella, once again, stood in front of her. ‘You know I can't let you die, right?’” is highlighted in green and “‘I don't need the Force," she said inhaling the scent of stone. "I am the heir of the thylefire scorpion and that is the only strength I need.’” is highlighted pink.

"I can hold you, or he can hold you," Xiri shouted, gesturing between herself and Axel.
Gella closed her eyes. Her dark lashes fluttered in that way of hers when she meditated at dawn. She turned to Axel and said, "Put it on."
He looked down at the vest Xiri shoved against his chest and blinked. "What?" The shuttle tilted downward, and they slid onto what were the walls.
"There are too many variables," Gella said. "This is the only way at least three of us make it back. Let me do what I was assigned to do." She raised her fingers and moved crates out of the way to give them an escape.
Gella turned to Axel again and shouted, "Put the vest on now!"
Axel moved mechanically. Xiri had seen that look on the faces of soldiers before. Had experienced it herself. It was like walking in a dream, your body not truly yours.
"Go!" Gella squeezed Xiri's hand like a metal claw and shoved Phan-tu out the door.
"Make for U'ronoh!"
Then that great invisible Force that Gella always talked about, Xiri felt it, like a pressure against her chest, Gella's promise and faith.

“‘I can hold you, or he can hold you," Xiri shouted, gesturing between herself and Axel.” is highlighted in green and “Then that great invisible Force that Gella always talked about, Xiri felt it, like a pressure against her chest, Gella's promise and faith.” is highlighted in pink.

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley @pressley.house.gov · 04/04/2025

🚨UPDATE: Rümeysa Öztürk has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in DHS custody. She has not received her required asthma medications—a violation of her fundamental right to medical care. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.

Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (1/2):

“It is unconscionable that Rümeysa Öztürk—a young woman pursuing her education, exercising her First Amendment rights, and contributing to her community—remains detained by DHS. Her ongoing incarceration is not only a blatant violation of her constitutional rights to due process and free speech, but it is now an egregious denial of her fundamental right to medical care.

Pressley, Warren, Markey Sound Alarm on Rümeysa Öztürk’s Medical Neglect, Renew Urgent Calls for Her Release (2/2):

“According to her lawyer, Rümeysa has not received her required asthma medications and has now suffered three separate asthma attacks while in custody. This is cruelty, it is neglect, and it is a damning moral and legal failure.

“As her representatives in Congress, we demand DHS immediately provide Rümeysa with access to the health care she needs, and absent compelling evidence justifying her detention and the revocation of her status, we call for Ozturk’s release and the restoration of her visa. Every minute she remains in custody is another minute her health and rights are at risk, and DHS must move with urgency.”
