Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025Don't take writing advice too seriously! Trust yourself and your instincts. Follow what excites you and do what feels right to you. You've got this! #ukteenchat 282
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025Something wildly different! Adult creative-non-fiction in verse! (although I'm playing with an idea for a YA as well!) #ukteenchat 162
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025Pantser forever! I can't plan at all! I write with no idea what will happen and completely out of order. I'm 100% at the mercy of my mood and whatever pops into my mind. I do pinterest a lot though! #ukteenchat 242
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025Mostly I think I'm just more confident! TDB was my second book and I was terrified that my first book had been a total fluke, that I'd fooled everyone, that I wouldn't be able to do it again. Now I have more faith in my writing ability and I know my own style much better! #ukteenchat 142
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025I trust my characters. I write for everyone so I let the characters guide me and I follow what they need! I don't approach the actual writing any differently ☺️ #ukteenchat 142
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025That you don't need to know everything about yourself to BE yourself. That learning about yourself is a lovely, exciting, fascinating thing. That someone somewhere gets it. That community is a special thing. That you deserve the time, space and grace to learn who you are. ❤️ #ukteenchat 143
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025There may or may not be a... hand holding scene! 😮 (it's very sweet and meant the world to me!) #ukteenchat 142
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025For readers: it's just so accessible. It can seem intimidating but it has rhythm, space and shape that make it so wonderful to read. Also, less words 😆 It's the perfect form for themes like mental health because every word is so deliberate and it gets straight to the heart of the - #ukteenchat 242
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025The Deepest Breath was adapted by a New York theatre company, Treehouse Shakers. Seeing the play made me so desperate to check in & see how my wee characters were doing! It was so inspiring. I was curious to see how they would handle a new school & new challenges. (Also I missed them!) #ukteenchat 241
Meg Grehan @megcathwrites.bsky.social · 06/05/2025It's a follow-up to my book The Deepest Breath! In this one we follow Stevie, Andy & Chloe as they start secondary school. The girls are super excited to join the Rainbow Club but suddenly Andy starts to distance himself and they don't know why. It's about friendship, anxiety & identity #ukteenchat 363
