On December 6, the Russian State Duma passed a law making home economics courses compulsory in Russian schools. Among other things, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said said the courses were necessary for girls to learn to make borsch to take care of their future husbands.
When it comes to talking about kids, about girls, they need to be prepared for adulthood: they need to be taught to make borsch because they’ll have to take care of their future husband, they need be taught how to hold a hammer.
