Victoria Roshchyna was 27 years old when she died in Russian detention. Two years on, no one was held accountable for her death. In August 2023, she traveled into Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia to document suspected war crimes — reporting that matters enormously to people living under occupation.

One year ago today, journalist Mzia Amaghlobeli was sentenced to two years in prison after more than seven months of unjustified pretrial detention. Her charge was arbitrarily changed at the end of the trial, raising serious fair trial concerns. A year later, Mzia is still behind bars.
