Went to see Larry David be interviewed by his daughter last night. Quite touching and personal. Funny, too, but that wasn’t the major vibe.?

My cat, Twig the Magnificent, was once very proud to have prevailed over a baby bunny rabbit.

Not many magazines live to be 80 years old. The one I edit did and is still doing its job: explaining existential threats in a way that regular folks will read—so they can do something to make the world safer. @columjournreview.bsky.social @jfallows.bsky.social thebulletin.org/magazine/202...

A top-flight writer-reporter-editor is in the market for a journo job. Known her for years; smart, dogged, accomplished. Recently won an LA Press Club Nat'l Arts & Entertainment Journalism Award. Ignore the last name and hire her, before someone else does. www.linkedin.com/in/hali-meck...

The Williamson County Sun—a twice-weekly paper north of Austin—gave me my first reporting job, about which I still have fond memories. The publishers, Linda Scarborough and her husband Clark Thurmond were there when I started in the late 1970s—and are still there.

Colman Domingo was interesting to watch and listen to last night at the Santa Barbara Int’l Film Festival. Oprah gave a little backstory as to how she knew him while giving him an award.

On second look, you could be right. The camera has a wide-angle lens that made it look the wrong shape for a cardinal. But it could be a juvenile female.

Watching Beatrice Fihn talking about the nuclear ban treaty, and how much she enjoys messing with the powerful. Fascinating.

I leased a Hyundai Ioniq 6 about a month ago after close comparison to Teslas. The Ioniq 6 drove better, gets better reviews (Car & Driver, Consumer Reports), looks better (kind of like a Porsche 911, IMO), has longer range (about 340 miles). Cost was about same. I highly recommend.
