This position has largely been filled by cats in the last several decades, though their goal seems to be to reduce your productivity.

Independence Day premiered the first weekend I started a job at a movie theater in high school. Walking down the aisles of the theater as the credits track rolled to grab the trash bins ten times a night felt like I was in the Star Wars Throne Room award ceremony scene.

What he probably remembers:
A screenshot from Laurel and Hardy in The Flying Deuces, with the pair recklessly flying a plane.

Few people seem to know that it was a complete plot rip off of the more obscure series Toilet Seat, but that was canceled in the middle of the first season because it was shitty.

But have we considered that maybe there's a construction contractor with "campaign donations" or "business investments" they want to make that will have absolutely nothing to do with the sweet no-bid government contract they get?

Comic fans waiting for the 3rd meaning to drop into popular usage. "Please, The Question, don't punch me in the face."
The cover to an issue of The Question comic book featuring the titular character, The Question, about to punch the viewer in the face, presumably, maybe the chest? Long drawn out slow motion fist bump? Only The Question knows for sure!

I heard about The Onion purchasing InfoWars. Did I miss their acquisition of Rolling Stone? Is this called the reverse hipster where instead of being proud that you listen to obscure artists you get irrationally angry that others don't live in your bubble?

Just Neb checking in from the other room, wondering what you're up to.
A cat peeking his head around the corner of a doorway making very direct eye contact, clearly intimating concern for the failures of your opposable thumbs to achieve anything more glorious than doomscrolling mobile platforms that hijack your executive function for a continually diminishing dopamine hit.

"The only reasonable position atm is 'We don't know'" This seems to be the most honest statement that can be made in any given scenario, but we really love to pretend we know enough to draw definitive conclusions. Then 20 years later someone shows we were wrong. Then someone else shows they were...

Magical moment: The neighborhood crows were sitting on the power lines waiting for treats and a small feather flew off of one, got caught in the wind, and came down slowly and I was able to catch it. Bestows +2 to corvid sight ability or something like that maybe?

Still annoyed all the cool side effects they teased about never happened. My 5G reception isn't any better after the COVID shot. I also played DnD and didn't manage to summon any demons. I must be doing something wrong.

You walk into the HR meeting and standing behind the HR manager there's a security guard with a conspicuous oversized roll of duct tape hanging from his tacticool utility belt.

Except Avatar is a futuristic sequel to Dances with Wolves. Also, the use of the Papyrus typeface for the title font negates any monetary success it's ever had. Absolute bomb.

When I lived in Orange County in the 90s, we called taking multiple lanes a California lane change because that was the only place we'd seen it. And a California stop was downshifting your manual transmission as you continued past the stop sign.

It helps to find editing strategies that work with your style. I find listening to your writing in someone else's voice most useful for catching issues with phrasing, rhythm, and missing words or details. Text-to-speech if you don't have a very patient friend/narrator.

It seems like the earlier you are in your writing experience, the harder it is to finish a story much less a novel, so editing feels like an intimidating entity just standing around waiting to ruin your sense of accomplishment and let you know that you're not nearly done.

The scenario I'm describing is misspelling a word or using a homophone in lieu of the intended word. I don't need a glorified Markov chain to tell me how I should have phrased something "better" when I already know what I intended to write.

We had grammar and spell check before LLMs. I'm not sure why an "AI" app is necessary for that. I don't even use something like Grammarly for my long form prose, so it seems less necessary for 300 character posts. I just want to catch my ADHD oversights and hastiness when posting.

I don't trust LLMs to check my grammar, or really, I don't want LLMs to make my writing boring and prescriptive. I want a feature like how some email platforms hold your email and let you reconsider before it actually sends. So hold a post in a draft mode for a minute before actually posting.

Neb has been getting popular with the people passing by his window, so I made him a nameplate to reflect his grandeur and chaos.
A digital photograph of a mostly white, partially tan colored cat posed regally in a window with a laser engraved walnut wooden sign with a cat silhouette and the title: "Neb – Destroyer of Toys"

Musk was obviously inspired to release the fully autonomous driving feature of Teslas and the construction of the Mars colony base by his fond memories of the release of Half-Life 3.
