Just Neb checking in from the other room, wondering what you're up to.
A cat peeking his head around the corner of a doorway making very direct eye contact, clearly intimating concern for the failures of your opposable thumbs to achieve anything more glorious than doomscrolling mobile platforms that hijack your executive function for a continually diminishing dopamine hit.

Magical moment: The neighborhood crows were sitting on the power lines waiting for treats and a small feather flew off of one, got caught in the wind, and came down slowly and I was able to catch it. Bestows +2 to corvid sight ability or something like that maybe?

You can only ever find what you've lost once you've purchased a replacement. You can only ever find the corresponding part once you've discarded the first part out of frustration.

Endeavor to live your life in such a manner that anthropologists in a post-apocalyptic future will have to invent the weirdest possible theories in an attempt to understand your values and rituals.

Neb has been getting popular with the people passing by his window, so I made him a nameplate to reflect his grandeur and chaos.
A digital photograph of a mostly white, partially tan colored cat posed regally in a window with a laser engraved walnut wooden sign with a cat silhouette and the title: "Neb – Destroyer of Toys"

Can we talk about how (I'd Go The) Whole Wide World is a song about parent-induced trauma in which a young boy is convinced that no woman will love him except one person in an "exotic" land instead of grounding him in the fact that he'll meet a lot of compatible partners in various places over time?

People say not to make eye contact with crows but they're the only people I usually want to make eye contact with.
A crow standing on the rail of a bench in front of a grassy knoll, not a grassy gnoll, but it would be cool if a fantasy creature like a gnoll were in the picture, but the crow is fantastical on its own so why are your expectations for wonder so high...?

In an absurd system, you're forced to be more and more absurd just to keep above the garbage piling up that threatens to swallow you down. It's not just satire to make commentary or advice on how to fix the broken, but a necessary act of survival. 1/π

Honestly, the best thing about #FurnishMaster besides the chillout soundtrack is the ability to ignore physics and just put anything anywhere. Gravity makes for boring layouts.
A screenshot from the game Furnish Master in which the client is praising the player for a great room layout when the room layout involves gravity-defying furniture stuck to the walls and ceiling. Does it seem weird to you that image alt text character limit is much bigger than the character limit for a single Bluesky post? I could post microfiction in this text field and most people would be none the wiser.

The Music and Sonic Arts program at PCC Cascade has a great Capstone class exhibit at the Paragon Arts Gallery going through tomorrow. You can draw your own fish to add to a projected ocean scene. Of course I had to draw a plastic cup to add because no ocean is complete without them!

Breaking News: Neighborhood crow association is not happy with Sneaky the Raccoon. They chased him up the tree and now they're divebombing him and squawking at him incessantly. He keeps climbing higher. Stay tuned for more coverage. The cats are fascinated. Interviews with cat's eye witnesses later.

I realized that my sorting method for organizing my office at home has failed in the past because it lacked labels with sufficient nuance, such as "stuff that goes to things I don't want to have to repair but just in case" or "I need ten more years before I'm willing to throw this away."

@richardkadrey.bsky.social I hate the quarterly earnings approach to literature, such that "bombs" that didn't sell well in the months after their release are deemed failures despite their actual merit. Any interest in more works like The Grand Dark or even a sequel regardless of initial reception?

Soundcloud asked my birthdate as I was trying to listen to an Icelandic ambient playlist. When I told it that I was born in 1887, it said I was too young to access the site. Did a multi-centenarian vampire collective buy out Soundcloud and I was too into my favorite dinosaur at the time to notice?
