FINAL DAY: Blood Tea and Red String (2006) A woman’s 13 year long passion project. Very indie and low budget, but rich in tone, themes, and setting. Felt like it came straight out of some messed up fairytale that gave children nightmares, while also having a sense of quiet whimsy.

“Creative breakthroughs happen when visionary storytellers are given access to transformative tools”-- Actually, creative breakthroughs happen when people don't have to drink brown water from data center waste. This is not cool or accessible, this is disingenuous & disappointing.

(2/2) All I know about Vampire Hunter D are the two films. To me he's one of the more boring "stoic vagabond helping others" characters I've seen. Still hot tho For me this movie's a lot like Redline, a “shut your brain off and enjoy the ride” kinda time, which's good! I would watch this again!

Day 28: Idiots & Angels (2008) Dismal and bleak, and I loved it. The first 70% at least, the ending lost me HARD. The sketchy style was fun, this being animated by one guy is insane. I was invested, and then the story dragged and lost thematic potential. I'd watch again, but left miffed.

Day 27: Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000) Solid good time! Never watched Beyond as a kid, but I really enjoyed Terry here. Great acting, both in terms of voice acting and character expression. Not for people who're unfamiliar with Batman, but still worthwhile! I love Batman!! YIPPIEEE!!!!!

Animation April Day 26 (ignore it's mid may): The Tale of The Fox Insanely impressive, especially for how old it is. It was personally way too uncanny animation, and thin a story for me to personally engage. I respect it, but didn't end up loving it.

Day 25: Alice (1988) Creepy in a way that I greatly enjoyed. The stop motion is amazing. I was NOT expecting the characters and setting to be so unsettling, at times it felt like an RE area. If you find the Disney version to be too meanspirited, this one's moreso, so take that for what it's worth.

Day 23: The Illusionist (2010) Beautiful animation and backgrounds but a profoundly bleak film. It had themes of working as a performer but barely anything to say on that. The Triplets of Belleville has more levity and intrigue than this.

Day 21: Yellow Submarine (1968) One of the most influential animated films from the 60s. It's very surreal and full with style, which I really like. Don't expect a finely polished story, and don't watch if you have epilepsy.

Day 20: Khamsa - The Well of Oblivion Algeria's first animated feature. The style and art direction is on point, albeit repetitive. It's slow paced and the story's obvious at points, but the ending went in a direction I genuinely didn't expect. If you like Journey or Hollow Knight, give this a shot!
