Really loving working through this shoot. Oread: in Greek myth, a beautiful nymph of mountains, ravines and grottoes. Caught at the threshold here — reaching toward the light she returns to. Model: @miekamuse #FineArtPhotography #FineArtNude #ArtisticNude #nudesinnature #artnude #notexplicit

Fine art nude photograph from the "Oread" series, modeled by @miekamuse (Instagram name). At blue hour, a nude woman stands against a tall sandstone rock formation, one leg bent with her foot braced against the rock, both arms raised overhead with hands reaching toward a small lit crevice in the stone above her. Warm amber light glows from within that crevice and catches her body, while the surrounding rock face and background trees are rendered in cool blue dusk tones. Fallen leaves cover the ground at the base of the rock. Oreads are, in Greek mythology, nymphs of mountains, ravines and grottoes.

I've been a bit busy lately and finally posting again. Oread are beautiful nymphs from cave/grotto/mountain/ravines in Greek myth and is what I'm calling this series. Returning to one of my fav locations with Mieka @miekamuse (Instagram) More images to follow. #Nudeart #artnude #nudesinnature

Fine art nude photograph from the "Oread" series, modeled by @miekamuse (Instagram name). A woman poses nude in the opening to a cave as if emerging from solid rock, one arm raised with her hand pressed flat against the rock above her, the other hand near her hairline, head tilted back with eyes closed. One leg is bent, foot braced on a rock ledge below her. Warm golden light illuminates her body and face from inside the cave while the exterior stays in cool blue-grey shadow. Oreads are, in Greek mythology, nymphs of mountains, ravines and grottoes.

I can’t decide which I like more between these two. @poeticminx.bsky.social and @andifferentname (instagram) pose showing how comfortably they work together. They are a joy to work with & lovely women. It’s getting warmer here now, time for another shoot. #BNW #artnude #nudesinnature #artnude

Two nude adult women pose together in a dark sandstone rock formation. One woman kneels in the foreground with her long blonde hair falling down her back, leaning backwards and looking upward. Her hands rest against the abdomen of the second woman, who stands behind her with one leg raised slightly and both arms lifted in a graceful pose, eyes closed. The warm skin tones contrast with the dark brown and charcoal textures of the surrounding rock. A small opening above them reveals pale sky and sand-coloured rock in the distance. The composition is intimate and sculptural, with the two bodies forming a flowing diagonal against the angular rock surfaces.

A black-and-white fine art photograph of two nude adult women posing within a dark sandstone rock formation. One woman kneels in the foreground, her long hair falling down her back as she leans backwards and looks upward. Her hands reach across to the abdomen of the second woman, who stands behind her with one leg slightly raised and her arms lifted above and beside her head, eyes closed. Strong tonal contrast separates the pale figures from the dark, heavily textured sandstone. The composition emphasises the curves and gestures of the two bodies against the rugged geometric forms of the rock.

Most people have no idea just how hard it is to be an art model. Since meeting a few I’ve learned just how much work is put in behind the scenes. This well written piece captures it well - check it out. I appreciate the work that they do.

Sirens: Another from my Sirens shoot with Aurora @poeticminx.bsky.social and Andrea @andifferentname (IG) earlier this year. I love the tenderness between them and the contrast of their skin against weathered sandstone. #FineArtPhotography #ArtisticNude #NudeArt #photographersofbluesky

Kin: Revisiting 2020 with Nadia and Anndrea, Australian Aboriginal twins. Nadia is sitting inside a cave looking at her sister through the opening. Still so much more that could be done at that site with the right model(s). #BNW #artnude #nudesinnature #artnude

Twins: Aboriginal twins Aandrea and Nadia in Hornsby Bushland back in 2020. This shoot got me hooked on art-nudes. #BNW #artnude #nudesinnature

Black and white fine art photograph of aboriginal twin sisters in a bushland setting. The figure on the left stands in a dynamic pose, arms raised with hands curled, gazing downward with a knowing expression. The figure on the right holds her hands in a prayer gesture, eyes downcast in quiet contemplation. Ancient sandstone steps and tangled native bush form the background.

More Last light: Aurora @poeticminx.bsky.social The very end of a shoot in 2024 as the light steadily fades. Lights & torches needed to find our way back to the car. #fineartnude #artisticnude #artnude #fineartnudephoto #art #artmodel #nudemodel #nudeinnature #nudefineart #beauty #nudes

A fine art environmental nude photograph taken at blue hour on a rocky outcrop at Hornsby Heights. A blonde woman stands on a natural sandstone plinth facing the camera directly, feet apart, arms relaxed at her sides, with a steady direct gaze. Shot from a slight low angle with a wide lens, her figure is framed against deep blue negative space in the upper sky, with a warm orange sunset glow at the treeline and dark silhouetted bushland valley below. Available light gives the image a naturalistic, painterly quality.

Mid-laugh, mid-light. @mayhdalton.bsky.social shows her confidence and grace. Shot last year, she’s going to be touring again soon. If you get the chance to work with her, do so. #FineArtPhotography #ArtisticNude #NudeArt #photographersofbluesky #FigureStudy #notexplicit

A fine art nude photograph in dramatic chiaroscuro lighting. A red-haired woman stands against a dark background, one knee raised, holding sheer white fabric that billows around her. Her head is tilted back slightly, laughing, one arm raised behind her head. A tattoo is visible on her upper arm. The single light source illuminates her figure against deep shadow.

Adorned: A privilege to photograph @mayhdalton.bsky.social. Something that drives me crazy though it how BlueSky handles any HDR content. The sparkles look amazing in HDR. #FineArtPhotography #ArtisticNude #NudeArt #photographersofbluesky #BNW #notexplicit

A black and white fine art photograph of May Dalton (@mayhdalton.bsky.social) head tilted back, eyes closed, in a moment of surrender or reverie. Her torso is draped in an elaborate rhinestone body chain whose lattice casts intricate shadows across her skin, the crystal fringe cascading to her lower abdomen. Her hand rests across her chest in a self-embrace, ring and knuckle tattoo visible. Deep shadow surrounds the figure. Hotel session, Sydney. © Mark Edwards 2026.

Charged: A quick iPhone shot of the sunset while walking on Friday afternoon. #Sunset #Landscape #Sydney #PowerLines #Nature

Landscape photograph taken at sunset, Sydney, Australia. A large high-voltage electricity transmission pylon stands silhouetted at centre frame against a dramatic sunset sky. Multiple power lines radiate outward from the top of the tower toward the edges of the frame, creating strong converging lines. The sky transitions from deep blue-grey storm clouds at the top to vivid golden orange near the horizon, where the sun is visible as a bright orb just above the treeline. Silhouetted eucalyptus trees frame the lower edges. Photograph by Mark Edwards, Sydney, captured on iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Guarded: Aurora @poeticminx.bsky.social stands watch over Andrea @andifferentname (IG) Shot at Whale beach. Sirens series. (Deleted and reposted from yesterday because of an error) #FineArtPhotography #ArtisticNude #NudeInNature #NudeArt #photographersofbluesky #Sydney #art #nudes #Notexplicit

Fine art nude photograph taken on location at Whale Beach, Sydney, Australia. A nude blonde woman stands barefoot and commanding on weathered sandstone rock formations, holding a tall bamboo staff in her right hand, left hand on hip, gazing directly and intensely at the camera. Her stance is powerful and protective. Behind her in the middle distance, a second nude dark-haired woman lies curled and resting across the rocks, partially sheltered by the surrounding boulders. Dramatic sculpted sandstone formations rise on either side, framing the scene against a vivid deep blue sky with wispy high clouds. The lighting is bright and directional, emphasising form and texture against the ancient stone. Photography by Mark Edwards, Sydney.

Major outage on BlueSky this arvo. Was offline from about 4pm AEST. It’ll be interesting to see what the cause was but I understand that cloudflare was doing an upgrade in our region. Luckily the distributed nature of BlueSky makes it harder to take down entirely.

Alcove: @poeticminx.bsky.social and @andifferentname (IG) pose beautifully together on some massive sandstone. I'm still massively grateful for the opportunity to enjoy my hobby. #FineArtPhotography #ArtisticNude #NudeInNature #NudeArt #photographersofbluesky #Sydney #art #nudes #Notexplicit

Two nude women are positioned within a natural rock alcove at Whale Beach, Sydney. The dark-haired woman perches on a ledge above, one knee raised, one arm braced against the rock wall, looking directly at the camera. The blonde reclines on the rock floor below, leaning back on one arm, also facing the camera. The striated sandstone walls rise on either side and a deep blue sky is visible in the upper right corner.

BTS from yesterday's post. Me taking a pic of @poeticminx.bsky.social The image was taken and kindly shared by @ottomellar.bsky.social

A black and white behind the scenes image at Whale Beach, Sydney. A photographer crouches barefoot on rocks below a large boulder, camera raised, shooting upward. Above him a nude blonde woman stands on top of the boulder facing away, arms slightly spread, hair blown by the wind. The ocean is visible to the right and dramatic clouds fill the sky above. The image shows the physical effort involved in achieving the low angle perspective of the finished shot.

A dark-haired woman stands on wet sandstone rocks at Whale Beach, Sydney, one arm raised above her head holding a sheer black fabric that billows around her, the other hand raised to her face. Her eyes are closed, lips slightly parted, weight shifted onto her back foot in a balletic pose. The ocean churns behind her against the rocks, and the horizon stretches under a pale blue sky. The overall palette is cool blue throughout.

A woman with auburn hair stands in a darkened hotel room wearing a gold chainmail and fringe body piece, bare below the waist. One hand is raised to her head, the other rests at her hip. She looks downward with a slight smile. Tattoos are visible on both arms. The mood is intimate and warm, the gold piece catching the available light against dark surroundings.

Every time I post an image now I have to do this little dance. Post> refresh > note the added Explicit tag > appeal on web platform > appeal using the app.....> check later to see if it's worked... repeat. Sometimes it's resolved quickly, sometimes it takes days. Do others have the same issues?
