So glad to have this back in my life. I think I'm going to enjoy hate watching Momoka for however long she's around. I hope she goes full villain. Also, can we get some love for my poor boy, Yota?

With the attitude of Sony/CR these days, probably. Doesn't mean I won't be hoping!

Oh yeah, absolutely. Not everything gets an immediate announcement. Doesn't mean I can't be impatient for it, thought! 😛

Excellent adaptation. Everything was spot on. My only complaint is the fact that a second season hasn't been announced (yet). There's enough material to do it. So what are they waiting for!?

This season (for me) had some really highs and some semi-lows, but overall was great. Can't wait for season 4 (to complete the second Okinawa arc, if nothing else)!

With the season wrapped up, @mdthomas.bsky.social has stepped in to talk about how this surprisingly long-running series is doing.

Mark Thomas @mdthomas.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

This really should have been the last episode. Them closing by doing New Year's and promising to smoke together next year would have been the perfect note to go out on. Do next episode before. Or we could just get to it next season. There is going to be a next season, right? Right!?

As spooky season approaches, just a note on my collection Scars and Candy from Crossroad Press. It includes some recent stories and early ones and new including "Playmate" and "Coffin Texts." I was very pleased with how those turned out. 1/2

This was an amazing adaptation. I got everything I wanted from it, and I'm glad we finally got the "real" Ghost in the Shell. Is it too much to ask that they follow up with GitS 1.5 and GitS 2 as well? And why not a faithful adaptation of Appleseed and a revival of Dominion while we're at it?

And that's a wrap, for a pretty great imo adaptation of the original work. We've got @mdthomas.bsky.social checking out the finale and an overall look at the season as well. Did you watch, or are you about to binge?

I'm not a fan of winter, but I'm with Sasaki in this one: there's something so peaceful about early morning in the wintertime that doesn't exist in other seasons.

New content! We're finally past the material from the mini-episodes. It's a little moment, but I love the hoss/squirt gun scene in this one.

A domestic Blu-ray release using the JP remaster of Maison Ikoku (with updated translations too, probably) is my holy grail of anime at this point. I can't think of much else out of the classic box I want/want a new release of.

And the manga is back in print. Viz re-released it in ten gorgeous volumes between 2020-2022. Now we just need them to bring the HD remasters of the anime over that released in Japan 2013-2014.

The toxicity of Japanese corporate life is well on display in this episode, which I find interesting. But that's why Sasaki has Tayama in his life.
