tfw you use the wrong template for a doc you've spent weeks space optimizing and you have to delete half a page of text 🫠

Did you know it’s pretty easy to programmatically access ACL Anthology data? For example, here’s a snippet you could use to get the BibTeX entries for all of your papers. The downside is that the initial fetching of the data takes quite long atm, but it can still be useful for automation!
Python code:

from acl_anthology import Anthology
anthology = Anthology.from_repo()
author = anthology.get_person("marcel-bollmann")
for paper in sorted(author.papers(), key=lambda p: p.year):
    print(paper.to_bibtex())

The SAC highlight felt particularly sweet after the paper got desk-rejected by TACL, and 6 months later, rejected with a D* based on two reviews, one of which was 70% factually incorrect, meta-reviewed in one sentence. *we had appealed the DR, it was an extensively reworked and rebutted resubmission

BPE-knockout just got outperformed by an algorithm that modifies BPE tokenisers in a feedback loop to make them absorb more and more constraints. It doesn't even need more data to do that. It uses the tokeniser itself as a dataset. 🧵
