Maryland’s transition to more secure chip-and-tap EBT cards is nearly complete — and fraud claims are dropping dramatically. About 85% of nearly 507,000 new cards have been activated, with 4.8M+ secure transactions since July!

As Kinship Care Month comes to a close, we’re looking at the progress made since the 2024 law took effect. As of July 2026, the kinship placement rate has increased by 46%. That’s significant progress. #KinshipCareMonth

Since H.R.1 passed, people around the country have been losing their SNAP benefits. Through our proactive outreach efforts, we have helped nearly 40,000 Marylanders maintain their access to SNAP, compared to the national average.
