It’s a sad indictment on our politics that these comments from Mary-Ann Stephenson are regarded as controversial or inadmissible by the Tories and Reform. The migration debate has become needlessly toxic, which harms both migrants and the nation. We must reduce tensions now.

Sadly true - and it’s now worse given we have multiple TV / radio channels which spread lies and panic about migration to boost viewer numbers and build support for extremist parties. The public deserve far better from politicians and journalists; OFCOM also needs to enforce impartiality.
