So the SPX will open around 3.3% higher than it was on May 14 ... a monthly gain of around 0.65%. That's a 12-month run rate of around 7.8%. With CPI at 3.7%, the inflation-adjusted run rate is around 4.25% ... That's 100 basis points below the risk-free 10-year. Not. Good.

I do wonder, however, how long that can last: if AI models advance as promised, ad revenue will plummet. That will crush Meta's business model. Which I suppose is why they're so intent on keeping deep connections to legacy platforms like FB and Insta and funneling those users into its AI development

"Owing stocks" in the American context isn't about whether folks have an active portfolio. It's that they have stocks in a retirement plan that they can't touch. Why TV folks assuming higher S&P 500 levels equates to higher consumer spending remains odd to me.
