I... Strangely enjoyed the film. And was some what disappointed not to get a sequel to it. And yet another reboot... Which actually was also pretty decent in its own way. The films not perfect. But it had good action set prices. Was well shot. Some odd casting choices. But enjoyable.

First contact easily has one of my fav epic trek battles. BUT! We all know how multi megaton nukes look... And on paper anti matter torpedos should have a bigger explosive yield. Yet when they hot anything shields Borg ship etc. they just have a basic few hundred meter sized explosion!

Gah auto corrects... gen AI technically.... Conversely. When retimer c.ame out that used pixel vector paths to retime footage... Though be it with tons of artifacts. It was heralded as a useful tool. Today retiming footage with genai filling the in-between frames.... Would be useful.

Blend would have looked far far better... I do wonder how ppl feel about tools like that. It's genuinely AI technically but it's part of the pipeline with people still developing and building and working on the shot.

Equally. A few months ago corridor crew remade the signature bullet time using 4 cameras and a whole lot of ai blends. It was sketchy tbh. But, in the movie they had to hand morph each frame between the cameras. Something AI could do far better... Eg. If corridor crew used 20 or so cameras. The AI

I have a genuine question re AI gen in production... I used to work as a VFX and motion graphics artist. How does people feel about Gen AI being used to blend 2 shots together? Some that that more traditionally would have been done using morphing and blends and masks. Is that considered cheating?
