Also there was overlap because MapQuest wasn't always right or couldn't help if there was some sort of obstruction or rerouting.

One more time for the cheap seats in the back!
Screenshot of article which reads: Democrats
and Republicans in the 1950s could agree on many things, as long as
they also agreed that Jim Crow oppression in the American South was
acceptable and that women belonged in the home. Once they started
disagreeing about these things, and especially once they were no longer
the only people allowed in the room, U.S. politics became significantly
more contentious. Not everyone wanted to peacefully extend power to
previously marginalized groups.

@hockeyviz.com finally looked at Flyers season projection and I gotta say I don't believe it. No way our power play is as good as -2% 🫠

Such an obviously better policy even the NFL gets it right. Mostly.

Again, the shift in the tech industry over the last decade isn't that the workers became fed up with liberalism and the left, but that the bosses did.

Big "tell me you've never worried about a child being able to socialize appropriately" energy from the folks who think universal childcare wouldn't be useful for stay at home parents

Again, I will keep saying that it doesn't have to be this way. I believe we *could* have ai assistants that are more secure. But that's not what's happening. Not because they're fundamentally bad, but because the people building them don't want that.

I can understand why the features of a supposed AI assistant are compelling. I kinda wanna try it too. But I know too much about how these things work. Do not give a cloud-based agent access to your shit. Especially one from the big tech companies.

Also worth noting that bond markets exist at basically all levels from municipal all the way up to federal (there are also corporate bonds). So this affects what your local school board or city can afford. It's not just a federal concern.

For example the basic premise is interest rates go up. Good if your money is in a savings account, you earn more in interest. Bad if you are the one paying that interest, like a government paying off their bond.

Honestly the most shocking thing about the Toronto - Columbus trade-a-palooza is that Toronto didn't try and sneak in trading their 2027 1st round pick again

Does IR work differently with the season starting or is Barkey still obligated to be out the minimum week (I think it's a week right?)

Good reasons to look at the splits and explain the season away but it really does make you feel extremely cautious about this coming season for him. But that's also all the more reason we probably need to jettison Kolosov and find someone as a reliable swing goalie.

Noel Acciari has no protection in his contract and the flyers have retention slots. Grebenkin is only signed thru till next year too. Let Knuble cook and if he's really read moves can be made at the deadline.

Oh damn I almost forgot Knuble. If Barkey isn't ready (and there's really not a good reason to rush him) I don't see how they can keep him off the team at this point. Sorry Grebenkin but your leash is very short right now

I've been very skeptical of Luchanko and it was clearly a preseason play (look at the effort level of those Bruins defenders) but watching him split the Dmen to drive the net and shoot was another good sign. More please!

On the Michkov goal I loved seeing Martone be right there at the net. I hope he spends a lot of time in that area this year. He's a big kid with good hands, good things will follow.

Also right away the Bruins goalie had one heckuva game. The score probably should have been much higher. JWoll made sure not to be outdone though with that ending sequence to preserve the shutout 👏

Finally caught the Flyers highlights from last night. First impression is that the youngsters look good. Great to see Michkov Knuble and Luchanko in the highlights. Hoping for big seasons for all of them this year 🤞

A lot of people seem to make the mistake of thinking "well, if this slows down LLM development and deployment, then that's great," but the problem is what's not happening when the x-risk nonsense takes center stage. We ultimately neglect real risks and harms in the space right now.

One of the most powerful things that sticks out in my memory is when our senior engineer, employee number 1, went off and called bullshit on the motivational speaker saying we were all just at work for the paycheck and we should be honest about that. A job is a job no matter how clean your hands.
