Actually, the FDA has reviewed the gold standard scientific evidence on mifepristone many times over the years, and it has always reached the same conclusion: Medication abortion is very safe, and serious complications are extremely rare.

Well, this is certainly a. . . creative. . . disinformation strategy from the anti-abortion politicians who will try anything to restrict abortion access. No, the scientific evidence does not support claims that mifepristone poses an environmental risk.

There’s nothing “science-based” about this FDA review. There are 100+ high-quality studies demonstrating the safety of mifepristone. There’s no conflicting evidence about health or safety — it’s a clown report from anti-abortion orgs that’s not peer-reviewed & has about 48 internal validity errors.
5/14 tweet from the official FDA account, which states, “FDA is committed to protecting the health and safety of women. The Supreme Court's order, issued today, maintains the status quo with respect to the REMS governing mifepristone. The FDA will press forward to complete its science-based safety review of the mifepristone REMS and, in an effort to provide greater transparency, will provide updates as key milestones are reached.”

🚨NEW: @cbsnews.com reports ICE is arresting people who can't even legally be deported and holding them without enough food or water in a federal building BASEMENT in Los Angeles. Families dutifully attending check-ins with ICE are being arrested and held for days, forced to sleep on the floor.
One attorney, Lizbeth Mateo, said ICE officials slated several of her clients for check-ins at the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in downtown L.A. but when they showed up on Tuesday, they were detained and immediately escorted to the basement.

Mateo said a couple and their two children, one of whom is a U.S. citizen, spent the night in a room with no beds and limited access to food and water. Mateo said the father had previously been issued a stay of removal, barring him from deportation but he and his family were detained anyway. His wife was released Wednesday evening along with their children since she needed medical attention due to a high-risk pregnancy. He was still being detained early Friday, Mateo said.
