For all those critical of Canada's retaliatory tariffs - what is Canada supposed to do instead? 1) sign a deal with permanent tariffs even though we already have an tariff free agreement? 2) let the US continue to bully without consequence? Seems like we have little choice.

I dont know where this trade war with US is going. But I know we have an existing trade agreement that US is violating - so what's the point of negotiating anything with them if they are not going to honour what they have signed. Time to say bye to F35s and other US imports and companies.

The Liberals won all three of the by-elections last night, securing a majority. And it wasnt even close. These are the latest results this morning. The Bloc got nearly 3x more votes in the one riding they ran in than the Cons got in all three combined. There's no way the Cons can spin this as a win!

Enough with the US. They are threatening a NATO ally and now putting tariffs on any EU nations that support Greenland. If any other country did this, we would be sanctioning them, banning athletes, etc. Time for the EU and S. America to boycott the World Cup and the Olympics in 2028.

The more I hear from Carney, the more comfortable I am with him as PM. I was worried that he is a little more right of centre, but on social issues he is bang on - improve health care, increase funding & access to abortion, invest in Canada. He also brings a sense of cooperation, not attacks

Trump is an embarrassment. He blamed Ukraine for being invaded, mused about Ukraine paying back US aid, suggested Zelenskyy is not a legit leader & Ukraine needs an election, and wanted Ukraine to sign over mineral rights to US. He is aligning with Putin and thinks he can bring peace. Unbelievable

Everytime the US has a disaster, Canada has been there to help- from California wildfires to Katrina to helping divert planes on 911. We didn't ask for anything in return, because thats what neighbours do. But the US thanks us with massive tariffs. Who needs enemies if you have "friends" like this?

So trump thinks he can not only put tariffs on Canadian (and Mexican and Chinese) products but also put into place a law that prohibits other countries from retaliating. Who does he think he is? And for the record, Canada has a FTA with the US and has not done anything to warrant tariffs.

Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada to remember the 14 women killed in Montreal Today, a report was released saying that 80% of online harassment and hate is targeted towards women. I can't help but think how little has changed in 35 years.
